Sonet Ueckermann (Pretoria, 2023-06-12)

It is important for the TMPD to do point duty during load shedding to contribute to society in a constructive manner.

Pierre Kritzinger (Pretoria, 2023-06-12)

#8

I don’t think the vagrants should man traffic lights.

Lynette Tredoux (Pretoria, 2023-06-12)

#15

The traffic contests because of no pointsmen

Meryl Venter (Pretoria, 2023-06-13)

#16

tired of homeless people directing traffic. Huge risk.

Susan Olivier (PRETORIA, 2023-06-13)

#18

I totally agree that TMPD officers should be stationed to assist with traffic flows during load shedding at all major intersections.
We are in the East of Pretoria and really feel that officers should assist at corners Solomon Mahlangu and Delmas and Solomon Mahlangu and Boeing where there is a High School. At the moment Beggars are directing traffic with no clue and people are throwing money for them. There is going to be a serious accident.
Please.

Elaine Battle (Tshwane, 2023-06-13)

#21

The current situation where the homeless direct the traffic, especially in big intersections e.g. Atterbury/Garsfontein/ Lois Ave etc etc, is so dangerous for both the "pointsmen" and all motorists. TMPD officials are highly paid doing .....? They are nowhere to be seen!

Isabel De Wet (Pretoria, 2023-06-14)

#22

I feel there is a serious need as the people trying to assist with this matter are unfortunately not trained and as a result are not respected by motorists and as a result many risks arise from the current situation

Barry Ruppersburg (Tshwane, 2023-06-14)

#23

TMPDcan surely do something for the community
We have death threatening crossings at Solomon Mahlangu and Delmas and Solomon Mahlangu and Boeing at Hoërskool Waterkloof. Let the do their job and help during loadshedding. Time to give back to the community.

Retha Van Niekerk (Preroria, 2023-06-14)

#25

They can do what they are paid for

Janine Fourie (Pretoria , 2023-06-14)

#27

I can't understand that common sense can't prevail to comprehend that this request is a necessity during loadshedding. Does it really need to be discussed or requested? Quite disgusted that this was not prioritized with CoT a long time ago. And taking into consideration that the community is of the opinion that they only see TMPD when they want bribes, this will be an excellent opportunity to win back the favour of the community and proof that TMPD actually truly still cares, and that they can serve the community as their mandate is.

Claudie Kannenberg (Pretoria, 2023-06-14)

#28

Self-appointed Traffic Cops pose a serious danger to road users as well as major intersections during load shedding. TMPD should be out in force during load shedding, making sure road users are safe and self-appointed Traffic Cops are taken out of the intersections.

Pieter du Plessis (Pretoria, 2023-06-14)

#29

I care about people..

Theresa Boshoff (Pretoria, 2023-06-14)

#30

I feel it is necessary

Johan Vermeulen (Pretoria, 2023-06-14)

#36

Road safety

Hannes Beetge (Pretoria, 2023-06-15)

#40

We have extremely dangerous intersections where pedestrians especially are in great danger

Magriet Theron (Pretoria, 2023-06-15)

#41

I have heard of instances where traffic police have stopped people at night and insisted on a bribe, even taking them to ATMs to withdraw money. Large amounts, between R1000 and R10000

Tiaan Enslin (Pretoria, 2023-06-15)

#43

That it is their job

Ansie Crous (Erasmuskloof, 2023-06-15)

I feel that Safety on our roads must be a priority especially during peak hours/load shedding stages.

Linmarie Venter (Pretoria, 2023-06-15)

Nico Vorster (Pretoria, 2023-06-15)

#47

Gerhard Campher (Pta, 2023-06-15)

#48

Saving lives rather dan always doing damage control should be a priority

wanda rabie (Pretoria, 2023-06-16)

Police pupils are expected to be honest and loyal. We don’t want police/traffic officers that only care about money but neglect our safety!

Mpumi Mahlangu (PRETORIA EAST, 2023-06-16)

#50

Safety to all

Talitha Meyer (Pretoria, 2023-06-16)

#51

Letting unqualified people run the traffic when the power is of is very dangerous

Francois Pienaar (Pretoria, 2023-06-17)

#52

I believe police needs to be more entrenched in local coo

Laurika De swardt (Pretoria , 2023-06-17)

#53

Metro needs to start doing their jobs. Beggars are regulating traffic whilst the metro cops are now where to be seen.

Riette Raad (Centurion, 2023-06-18)

#54

I visit Pretoria often and the service of the Metro Police would ensure safety on the roads

Delia Botha (Benoni, 2023-06-18)

#61

We pay mynicipal tax and get no service from Metropolice instead they terrorise us
Will help traffic to glow

#66

I'm gatvol

Phillip Fouche (Pretoria East, 2023-06-18)

#67

It is time that Metro serves the community and stop harassing the law abbiting community

Hannes Benade (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#69

We need pointman at the Molotto , Kameeldrift and Kameelfontein intersections when there is no power

Rene Van Zyl (Gauteng, 2023-06-18)

#70

We pay a lot for vehicle licenses and taxes and receive nothing in return!

Kobus De Villiers (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#72

It is a safety hazard and extremely dangerous at intersections without power

Willem Visagie (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#73

We live in Floraunq, the crossing where the Areyeng bus station is, is a racing track early in the morning, as taxi's load off passengers in the middle of the road. Imagine the chaos when there is load shedding.
Another intersection is Lynnwood/Meiring Naude/N1

Sonja De Klerk (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#74

I have a small business and I struggle to get to my appointments because of traffic during Loadshedding. You always see at the biggest traffic chaos 300 meters onwards traffic officials rather pull of the road for rotine checks.

Bernhard Botha (Centurion , 2023-06-18)

#76

Traffic at the Zambesi / Moloto crossing is horific when it is loadshedding and very dangerous to cross the intersection. A few meters after the robot you will find TMPD handing out tickets or watching the disasters in the comfort of the TMPD vehicles because it is to cold outside.

Joey Deysel (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#77

Zambesi drive is one of the problem areas before going onto the highway. What normally takes me 5min from my home, sometimes takes with loadshedding 40min.

Alex Blaeser (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#78

Load shedding causes chaos and major delays at robots at major inter junctions. It is harmful to businesses

Sonja Kruger (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#79

We as tax payers deserves this

Tertius Engelbrecht (Meyerton, 2023-06-18)

#81

We want order in the city. No bribary. No lawlessness.

Hugo Lombaard (Tshwane , 2023-06-18)

#84

We, as taxpayers, have the right to ask for assistance. The workers of municipalities, the SAPS and so many more, think that they are entitled to do what the like and spend our taxpaying Rands on whatever they want, holding us hostage. They must stop....they are working for the public. Earn your salary. Stop being so entitled.

Angelique Rossouw (Upington, 2023-06-18)

#85

I am every day on the road in Gauteng. It is suth a frustration if you cant get through your work on a day.

Daan Potgieter (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#91

I am tired of the TMPD doing nothing but terrorise and steal from motorists

M.J Van den Heever (Tshwane , 2023-06-18)

#92

They get paid a full salary to work during the day to help those who pay their salaries. Instead, they are missing in action during the day and roam the streets at night to target innocent citizens with their corrupt ways.

Judy Buys (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#93

I support the petition

Elizabeth Hendriks (Tshwane, 2023-06-18)

#94

I am paying tax and irbid the metro police’s job and responsibility to keep roads and citizens save. They are not optimally employed and should be fired if they are not prepared to do a decent 8 hour a day job. There are lots of people without jobs who will replace them with a smile if nog prepared to work as they are getting a salary for. Just do it!

Lorenci Klopper (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#97

TMPD has an obligation to regulate traffic at busy intersections during power outages. I can't see the point why Outsurance has to be contacted to send pointsmen when TMPD can offer the same service. So, TMPD, instead of pulling cars over to check licences, especially during peak hours, do your job and regulate our traffic.

Zelda Brown (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#98

They must work for their salary

Martin Hoare (Limpopo, 2023-06-18)

#99

Why do the homeless people try to (illegally) regulate traffic? Most of them have never driven a car themselves

Gerda Vd Linde (Tshwane, 2023-06-18)

#100

Im fed up with traffic cops being so over weight and use government vehicles and money for their own personal use. Its a corrupt service. They are not law enforces anymore but lazy persons using OUR money fir their own personal gain and is lawless and corrupt

Alta Venter (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#101

The Metro police will sit meters from dead traffic lights, and stop people to issue fines...or collect bribes - this is Tshwane after all.

Fanie Gerber (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#106

I was pulled off by TMPD and a spot fine was required to get my drivers lisence back.

Jaco Pretorius (Bronkhorstspruit, 2023-06-18)

#107

I fully agree. They should start doing their job they are paid for

Francois Groenewald (Daspoort, Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#108

I am signing this petitions because the Metro Police is not doing their job. They are only terrorizing citizen, instead of doing their job. And their job is to control traffic, be at school crossings, help people with fraffic problems, fine traffic offenders and see that UN roadworthy vehicles are not on public roads. But unfortunately the Metro Police are a lot of looters and gangsters that think they are untouchable

Jacobus Van Staden (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#109

It's the logic thing to do. Should have been implimented from the beginning of loafshedding...

Fanus Coetzee (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#111

It is high time that they start doing there work.

Isak Viljoen (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#112

Dit maak net sin, dit is ons as belastingbetalers se geld wat hulle betaal om weg te kruip en dat boemelaars verkeer moet reguleer.

Daniël Goosen (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#113

Please TMPD officers regulate the traffic when the traffic lights are off.

Hanlie Van Niekerk (Tshwane , 2023-06-18)

#114

Fed-up with dead end peak times crossings, with no help in loadshedding, too many accidents happen, because people either are idiots or are not responsible enough to understand who must go first at a dead Robot crossing! Bot to talk about taxis taken over completely!!

Leanette Schoeman (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#116

I also have a problem with traffic in the CBD and specifically passing the Pretoria Zoo.
It is not only for traffic, but safety to the public

Willie Els (Tshwane , 2023-06-18)

#117

Our intersections are unsafe if traffic lights are not working.

Veronique Joubert (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#118

I have friends and family liviving in Pretoria battling in traffic.

Mentz Karsten (Mosselbaai, 2023-06-18)

#119

I agree 100%. I dont know why they can't do their work and why we need to listen to homeless people with no jobs who do try to regulate the traffic. I stay in Lynnwood and my daughter and our friends were also victims at night where Tshwane Metro Police officers victimized them and they had to pay bribe money. This is sick, traumatizing and unacceptable. They think they are above the law

Suzette Viljoen (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#121

Fedup with traffic at intersections and Metro Police writing tickets instead of regulating traffic

Tanja Bester (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#122

The TMPD is only there to bribe. If they help during loadshedding it will be their first positive contribution to this city in 10 years

Johans van Tonder (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#123

TMPD should do what they're supposed to do!

Johann Oosthuizen (Centurion, 2023-06-18)

#124

Tshwane traffic police is non existent when traffic violations take place but has a high nuisance value where not needed, they seem to try and avoid real work.

Markus Faure (Tshwane, 2023-06-18)

#125

Wil 'n veilige padgebruiker wees en vir ander

Koos Van Deventer (Van Riebeeck Park, 2023-06-18)

#127

I fully agree with the petition. The TMPD should be part of the solution not the problem, they should work at improving the lives if tax payers not making their lives miserable.

Lizel Steenkamp (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#129

Traffic is horrific when loadshedding

Mariette Manser (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#132

I'm fed up never seeing a traffic officer actually doing anything

Petro Borchard (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#133

I’m signing this because our city needs serious good services from our Metro Police and Traffic Officers. We want to be save in this beautiful city of us.

Crystal Botha (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#137

For safety reasons

Elmarie Geldenhuys (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#139

I am worried when the trafic is managed by beggars with no training and likely to be drunk

Jacques Van Rooyen (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#141

The Metro Police is never anywhere visible when it is load shedding. Rediculous. Poor beggars try to help, but they are not trained. This is s brilliant idea.

Daleen De Villiers (Tshwane, 2023-06-18)

#143

Safety for motorists

Philmari Brummer (Tshwane , 2023-06-18)

#146

We demand the service that we pay for!

Leon de Bruyn (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#147

This makes absolute sense, we pay there salaries to keep the road safe.

Jan Burger (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#150

There will be less chaos in South Africa, if every citizen do what they are employed for!! STOP BEING A BURDEN TO THE COUNTRY!

Petra Venter (Mossel Bay, 2023-06-18)

#152

We are paying them and do not get any support from them. Waste of tax payers money. You will always see them at shopping malls driving official cars doing private business.

Johnny Kirsten (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#153

This is a basic service the TMPD can,and shoul, render to the citizens of Tshwane.

Kevin Horsley (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#155

I am frustrated with the non performance of TMPD officers. There will be a major intersection in need of regulation and they will stand a couple of hundred meters from it, conducting a road block instead of keeping people safe on the road.

Antoinette Gambold (Tswane, 2023-06-18)

#156

The traffic are really bad to work in the mornings and from work in the afternoons. When I pass on the N1 where the N4 joins the N1 a whole lot of TMPD officials gather under the tree. What are they discussing? They do have motor cycles and can regulate the traffic where there are problems!

Annalise Bellingan (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#157

Its needed

Francois Nortje (Pretiria, 2023-06-18)

#158

Fedup with loadshedding and traffic jams. Lapswaaiers not the answer to do trafic dep work.

Roelf Burger (PRETORIA, 2023-06-18)

#161

TMPD needs to do their work

Anton Combrink (Centurion, 2023-06-18)

#164

TMPD is not visible regulating traffic during load shedding & during Peak Hours

Carel Scheepers (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#165

........because i am also experiencing this uselessness!!

Hannes Vd Westhuizen (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#168

This is in all of our interest

Johan Goosen (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#169

I'm signing, because I pay my municipal account every month

Piet Nell (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#170

It is hightime that TMPD do their jobs as traffic officers.

Johan Pienaar (Tshwane, 2023-06-18)

#171

TMPD Points men are urgently required at busy intersections.

Hester Pienaar (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#172

I am signing because we as taxpayers get nothing in return. Our money disappears in a huge black corruption network within CoT. They do nothing to stop the corrupt individuals terrorizing innocent people at night. I am sure they know who these individuals are. If they do not know then it is further pointing to the CoT's complete uselessness. Just look at the state of the sewerage facilities. I know because I am a victim thereof. I just had it with these people.

Leonora de Haas (Centurion, 2023-06-18)

#173

I agree that traffic officers mind the traffic (pun intended) , rather than targeting law abiding citizens wirh money-making rethoric.

Pieter Gildenhuys (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#174

Thete is a need for qualified traffic controllers during load shedding

Stephanus Marais (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#179

It's time for them to do their work and stop hanging around.

Louw Schoeman (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#180

I completely agree.

Gerda Ras (Krugersdorp, 2023-06-18)

#181

It's chaos in mornings when we have to go to work and late afternoons to go home because of the Loadshedding
People from the streets try to help with out a cent ? What a shame..

Rachel Lombard (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#183

Why should beggers regulate the traffic lights during load shedding? It is the TMPD duty to do so

Yolande Steenkamp (VILLIERIA, 2023-06-18)

#184

I know the frustration to sit in traffic

Gerty Kolbe (Montagu, 2023-06-18)

#187

It is a huge frustration when one is stuck in the traffic and there is no TMPD members in sight at robots during loadshedding, even though they drive past the same robot.

Theuns Kruger (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#189

I support this request

Henri Cloete (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#191

I'm Signing because that is part of there job to regulate the traffic and must ensure that there are a flow of traffic and minimize accidents.

Chris Smit (Pretoria, 2023-06-18)

#193

I am fed up with the traffic chaos during load-shedding!

Anne-Marie Beukes (Pretoria , 2023-06-18)

#194

I think its high time that we get value for our tax money, why should the insurance company supply traffic controllers when it has always been the responcibility of the municipality's traffic department

Andre Horsman (Centurion, 2023-06-18)

#195

We need the TMPD to provide this essential traffic control service for the safety of the entire community. Lives are at stake here.
