Southern Edgewood NM (Edgewood 7 South of RT 66 to Windmill Road and encompassing neighborhoods on East and West sides of Edgewood 7) Petition for Better Fiberoptic Internet

My name is Karen Lloyd.  My husband and I have lived south of Edgewood (Edgewood 7 / Windmill Rd / Steeplechase Rd area) for almost 14 years.  We have been struggling with sluggish internet for the entire time.  We used Verizon hot spot, but could not stream TV apps (Netflix, etc.). So we connected to CenturyLinks high speed internet, but can only get </= 15 mbps (today download is 11.83 mbps and 0.39 mbps upload).  Oftentimes, we can't even connect to the internet and Netflix spins and ESPN+ freezes.

Several conversations with CenturyLink result in frustration when they cannot supply a better service.  The repair technicians state that we are too far away from the main feed, which is far beyond our neighborhood.

There is spotty Xfinity/Comcast in the neighborhood, but that company is not willing to install more fiberoptic cable unless we can guarantee everyone wants it.  However, their prices are excessive.

Plateau is a new and local company starting in this area, but North of I-40 along NM-344.

As is logical, Plateau also wants to know the interest of neighbors wanting them to install fiberoptics in our neighborhoods.  There is NO OBLIGATION to buy into Plateau by signing the petition.  But, they will likely never start improving our options of good quality internet without our voices.
