DEMAND OF SPEED HUMPS IN LAMBTON, GERMISTON

REASONS FOR THE MOTIVATION AND DEMAND OF SPEED HUMPS IN LAMBTON, GERMISTON.  

We are urging the demand for speed bumps in the specific areas of 1ST STREET, 2ND STREET, 1ST AVENUE AND 2ND AVENUE including surrounding streets in the Lambton Germiston area, as this will prompt the safety of the four schools, residents and public park users in the vicinity.

These areas have the most troubling occurrences regarding drivers that speed, approximately 120KM/HR IN A 40KM/HR ZONE this includes cars and bikes due to the schools and do not abide by the stop signs.

This has led to numerous incidents where the vehicles have gone through the walls of residential houses, we also had multiple close encounters with residents reversing out their driveways and almost being hit because of speeding vehicles that CAN NOT slow down in time.

We fear for our children that are riding their bicycles on the park's outskirt and for the pedestrians that cross the street to get to and from the park, be it from their housing or the schools that are situated on either side.

Please help make our community a little safer for all the children and residents by giving voice to this petition!
