Stop the relocation of Pomona Informal settlers to Tedstoneville

Urgent request for community to stand together against the moving of the Pomona informal settlers (Kempton Park) to Tedstoneville.

Please assist by signing an urgent petition to demand that the council stop this planned moved immediately

We, the residents of  Germiston, hereby strongly object to the relocation of informal settlements into our suburbs!  Stop the planned relocation of informal settlers into a park/open space area in Tedstoneville Ward 42 Germiston and any other intended areas!

We as the citizens of Germiston, the LamDel Residents Association and businesses in Germiston, hereby call on the MMC for Human Settlements, Cllr. Lesiba Mpya Ndosi, to take immediate action on the following compliant.

Stop the EMM's intended relocation of the Pomona informal settlement into a open area in Jackdaw street, Tedstoneville. Intended relocation date 1 December 2021.

This will devalue all our properties and will bring its own socioeconomic challenges and issues. The city will allow the people to build ‘shack’ type homes on the property.

There are no services like water, sewerage and electricity on the site. just image the health and safety issues and disgrace that this will bring to this residential area.

Germiston local infrastructure is allready failing, and service delivery is basically collapsed!

Germiston should not become the dumping ground for the faiilures and  bad planning of council!

Together we can protect our local Germston community!.

Councilor Alta de Beer from the Democratic Alliance will be steering the petitions
