The Boulevarde Lilyfield

We, the residents of The Boulevarde Lilyfield, respectfully request the Inner West Council upgrade our street by considering:

1. New in-road tree planting

We request large tree planting on a median strip in the middle of the road. The Boulevarde is an unusually wide street which leads to the spectacular Callan Park. Native trees in line with this heritage should be considered.  The Boulevarde is at the top of the crest of the hill and is quite exposed and hot in summer. Trees will benefit our community by increasing shade and cooling the street in summer.

2. No changes to parking

Planting in a newly created median strip rather than along the edges of the road will ensure parking is not disrupted or changed on our street. 

2. Slowing down speeding cars

As it is a very wide street, it is often used by commuters and tradies who travel at high speeds between main roads. There are dozens of young children on our street and the median strip will have the added benefit of slowing down this traffic by narrowing and separating the two lanes. 

2. Road re-surfacing

It would be of benefit to consider re-surfacing of the road at the same time, as it is currently in very poor condition with with multiple pot holes.
