No School fees during Lockdown India

To,

HRD Minister,

Respected Sir ,

I am writing this on behalf of all the students of ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL Jaipur regarding the fees payment to the college during Lockdown.

It is clearly being stated that the Rajasthan government barred the private schools in the state from taking advance fees in view of the corona pandemic till 30th June. Now this order has been extended till the reopening of the schools/Colleges which is said by Education Minister Mr. Govind Singh Dotasara.  Our shops, factories, Business and Office have been closed for 4 months now. Lot of people are getting unemployed ,Facing family crises and Losing people we loved .States like Maharashtra ,Delhi , Haryana have the highest  number of covid-19 patients we still are in Red Zone Area.  We know how we are making our ends meet and paying salaries to our staff from our pockets or saving to run the house. So if we can bear this burden, then why can’t these schools pay salaries to their staff during Lockdown? They have taken hefty fees from us in the month of may 6th 2020 of an amount 80,000 Rupees as an Admission fees by saying if we don’t pay we will not get admission in the college and now 35-40k every month.  Parents are facing constant financial and emotional hardship which may force them to withdraw their children from school education .

And the gimmick of starting these online E-Learning Classes in order to justify the fees is all the more Shameful .Students aren’t using any equipment , nor attending lectures in the classes as a matter of fact we are not suppose to be getting charged for miscellaneous fees other than Tuition fees . My question is how do you justify the fees collection by the school? We need a proper justification before you impose it on the parents in this situation. The quality of education and the faculty is good .But they keep asking about the fees.

This has been said  by one of the faculty members of IBS Jaipur that :‘’I have received clear instructions from the Head Office.Students failing to make full/part payment of the First Installment of Program Fee latest by July 10th, 2020 (Friday) would be discontinued from the program with no further information.I am not in a position to oblige with any extensions on any grounds. Some 27 students haven't paid the First Installment of Program Fee, you have an option to make part payment as shared earlier if you are facing limitations. But certainly, we are clearly directed to discontinue the students *with no* fee payment by the said date. This is our last communication regarding fees. This point onwards you would receive no communication from our side regarding fee payment. We'll simply put the names off-rolls.’’

It has become a burden on parents to make their child understand as well as college about financial issues. There are students whose final year examination is on hold due to which they are not getting an education loan. It’s a peak month for almost every bank that provides education loans to students so it takes more than a month to get approved that also college does not understand.

As of now peace of mind is more important and we need to accept the current situation .This too shall pass and we can lighten the studies burden for this year (it’s almost the matter of a whole Semester I). We students aren’t asking to reduce the fees as we understand the situation from your side as well .But Please kindly give us time till the commencement of offline/Physical school classes and consider students’ situation do not force us to pay the fees.

Let hope the pain of the common man reach the deaf ears of the private school owner as well as our Education ministry.Together we can.Thank you

 Your’s Truly ,
