Property Transaction

Two weeks after the petition was started, 625 digital and paper signatures were sent to the developer expressing our dislike of the development and that we would not patronize the business.  There was no further information on the matter until this week.  It appears the property is to transact on Monday the 22nd of August and the builder said he would be "right behind" the sale and start construction.  Constuction is expected to take 12 weeks to completion.

Since the land was already zoned commercial and there were no variances being requested, there was no public comment on the matter.  We knew it would be a tough battle to stop the development.  Hoping to appeal to the lack of profitablity their store would likely have, we signed the petition.  In the end, it doesn't look like it swayed their decision to proceed with the build.

Thank you all for your support in voicing disapproval of this project.  You can still vote with your dollars if the transaction goes through and support local businesses.  Thank you!
