POWER OFF AGAIN AFTER LOADSHEDDING IN MENLO PARK , LYNNWOOD AND MAROELANA

We, the residents of Menlo Park and Lynnwood, request the City of Tshwane to investigate and remedy the cause of the repeated power outages we face after loadshedding. Again this mornign after 2 x 4 hours loadshedidgn on stage 6 we have no power in Menlo Park, Lynwood South, Maroelana and  Alphen Park 

It is bad enough that we have to cope with loadshedding, but we have repeated trips within minutes of loadshedding, stopping us charging batteries for security, inverters, power banks etc, severly affecting our homes, our families and small businesses.

Our added concern is the Lynnwood substation which we get power from is a primary substation and it appears there is a problem at the Lynnwood substation which must be attended to as soon as possible. Th etrips are at the Lynnwood Substation. 

The first petition has served at the petitions committe with apparently no further action taken.

Petition to serve at the Petitions Committee Thursday 24th August 9h00

Good afternoon Residents

This morning we attended the petitions committee meeting with regards to the power outages. We were informed a new ODS mini sub had been installed on the corner of 19th and Justus Mhomed streets which we confirmed after the meeting by a site inspection. I took photos of the new sub. Load was moved from the mini sub in Justus Mahomed cnr 23rd to avoid further trips. This needs to be tested over time now. The outages after loadsheddig seem to be resolved for now - again - time will tell.

In addiiton a meeting will be arranged with officials and MMC's within the next 2 weeks to discuss the impact of development on the power network as well as other issues such as the primary Lynnwood substation
