A New Bus Service

I would like to thank all of you for signing the petition. Yesterday afternoon it was confirmed that a new service will be in place for Monday which is great news.

Thank you to Pullman Coaches for stepping into the void that Stagecoach left and also to Gloucestershire County Council for getting the tender process done so swiftly to ensure there will not be a gab between the two services.

The Petition will now end as we have now got the result we all wanted. Thanks again to everybody.

Update on service - Need your help for Glos Integrated Transport

Today I have spoken with both Deer Park and the Glos Integrated Transport. Deer Park were not that helpful, saying it was not their responsibility to provide a bus service. I did ask if they cared for the welfare of our children and when pressed he did agree but still was not going to help as it was not his department!!

Glos Integrated Transport on the other hand were very helpful. They are putting the service out for tender and it is their intention to ensure that the service remains, but as the current service is not a closed service (i.e. other members of the public can catch the bus), they are unsure of the demand for the Bus. They know that 5 people are over 3 miles so will be included. I have also said that my daughter says the bus is completely full but if we can show the level of demand for the service I am sure that will help then tender properly and thereby ensure we get the best cost for the new service.

If your son or daugther goes to either Deer Park or Kingshill and currently catches the bus can fill in the survey on faceboook (link below) so I can inform them to help with the tendering process as Deer Park are uncertain of numbers and I would expect Kingshill to be in a similar position.
