A hazardous road construction severely affecting residents' livelihood

• With all the good intentions with which the road construction in Drieziek, an extension in Orange Farm.
  
• This project seeking to improve the area and the empowerment of local small and medium sized companies and communities through employment opportunities, the project has unfortunately achieved the opposite thus far.
  
• Residents are unable to access their houses especially those who have vehicles 
  
• Refuse removal has not been collected in months due to access roads that are dug out and over flooding with rain water and in some areas with ground water 
  
• Working areas not properly cordoned off resulting in high risk of people falling into holes that have practically became dams 
  
• Non provision of personal protective equipment to their own employees, resulting in high injury on duty incidents 
  
• Small businesses suffering loss of income because of road closures 
  
• People whose livelihoods depend on selling to earn an honest living had to stop
