Enough is Enough!!

For over a decade there have been countless reports of Cows, large livestock, loose and wandering on a dangerous corner of Belgrave- Gembrook Rd, Avonsleigh. Due to poor fencing, and seeking opportunities for more food these cows have put all drivers at risk on a very windy road, all hours but  predominantly at night time. Sickening incidences of neglect to cows, and also dogs have been found and reported, with little evidence of change or hope for these animals.

There have also been several traumatic incidents of cows falling from the embankment, dying as drivers watch helplessly. Recently there have been several reports of dying livestock in the paddocks due to neglect and illness, including new a new calf recently found left dead, left in the paddock. 

For too long reports and complaints have gone unheard with no clear action being taken by authorities.

Please sign this petition to support proper investigation and removal of the livestock and any other animals from this property.

“…With the owners constantly committing offences under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 we would assume that control orders are in place at this property. Control orders which are clearly not being complied with.

We would also expect that the department has obtained veterinary treatment for the animals at this address as they are are unwell, distressed and if not already, likely to become disabled. Following from this, we would also expect that the department has already submitted a notice of intent to seize. Following the 7 day period of the notice - we would expect that either the animals have been seized, or that the owners have put the appropriate actions in place and are caring for their animals.

We look forward to seeing the best outcomes possible for the animals at the property…..”
