AMR Spokane Uniforms

This petition is in regards to AMR Spokane Uniform Policy. As professionals regarded highly within our communities, we are required to have a clean and neat appearance. Due to our current uniform situation, wearing white, this is not attainable for many employees working in the field. Not only does the color white show stains, blood and any other fluids, but it looks highly unprofessional to have these marks visible on our shirts. Current policy states:

3.14.5.1 Approved shirts with company patch and State patch denoting level of certification. Patches will be centered on the sleeve 3/4 inch below the shoulder seam. Employees with noticeable chest hair may be required to wear a white undershirt to maintain a professional appearance. This will be at the discretion of the operations supervisor, manager or director.

The city of Spokane Fire Department contract states:

  1. Uniforms shall exhibit a professional appearance at all times and reflect the trust and integrity needed for the AMR to provide services under this Agreement as long as uniforms clearly identify personnel as AMR employees and not Fire Department personnel. (Page 15)

The current uniform proposal brought forward by the Operations Manager is a charcoal grey polo, the same as our white ones. This is only feesable through a petition with signatures from the majority of our team members. If you would like to see the change in uniforms please sign the petition and pass it on!
