Subject: Regarding Preliminary test and Project Presentation.

Respected Sir,

We, the members of student council are writing this letter on the behalf students of St. JOHN COLLEGE AND ENGINEERING of S.E., T.E. and B.E. Yesterday, on 19 April 2020, all students received a notice regarding preliminary exam and Project presentation through Whatsapp group. There are several points below which mention all the problems faced by the students.

We would like to have your kind attention about this,

Following are the points

I) On 15 March 2020, all the students received a notice from the college regarding cancellation of all the academic lectures and practical till further notice as a precaution against the pandemic COVID-19,

2) As it was a sudden notice by government no was aware of the lockdown , so many students keep their books as well as assignment papers in their lockers so many of them actually don't have their stuff with them right now.
No-one had any idea that this would become a serious issue in a next few days.

3) From 24 March 2020, whole India is in lockdown till today and all the shops are closed because of which we are not able to buy any full scape paper, notebook, pen, etc.

4) Many students are not having a good financial background and due to this lockdown the income of their family has stopped due to the shutdown of companies.

5) Many students do not have Wi-Fi at their home n even if we have 4G or 3G data there aree places like Wada , Palghar where is range issue n students reside over there n for them it's gonna be unfair.

6) Many of us do not have the required study material required for this preliminary test.
Our students who use to stay in hostel has left their study material over there as they were not aware of this lockdown n now it has become a problem for them too.

7) And as per some professors shops are opened we literally don't know where because most of us stay in mumbai which is red zone right now n parents aren't allowing us to go out at all even if the shops maybe opened ( as per professors)

8) Because of all the points above, students are going through a lot of mental stress.

9)Earlier, we were asked to attend the module wise quiz which we did sincerely.
10) If the exam can be conducted in MCQ format as it may be fine as there is literally lack of papers to write answers as we need atleast 25 pages per subject n in total 150 pages for 5 subjects n we don't have so much but the only problem will be for students who has range issues as we have mentioned above

In this pandemic, where whole world is suffering from COVID-19, everyone is going through a rough patch, where we are going through a lot of mental stress. As our mentor/our guide, we want some support from your side.

Therefore, we request you to cancel this Preliminary test in writing form due to un-availability of any kind of papers to attend this test. We hope that you would understand the current situation and take appropriate action.
