Elizabeth Residents Parking Proposal

The purpose of this petition is to obtain support for a submission to the Town of Cottesloe for restricted parking to Elizabeth street. Specifically we'd propose that south of the Knowles street intersection, Elizabeth street should have a 2 hour parking limit with exception for those with a residential permit.

In terms of reasoning, Increasingly our street is being used by park and ride users of Grant street station.  Parking is restricted on the section of Elizabeth Street north of Knowles (to allow free movement due to it being a narrow street). Parking is also restricted (to 2 hours for non-residents) on Grant street to beyond the Kathleen street intersection (to prevent park and ride users).

There is currently no restriction to parking on either side of Elizabeth Street south of Knowles Street, despite most of the restricted parking on Grant street being actually further from Grant Street Station than this part of Elizabeth street.

Its increasingly difficult due to the narrow nature of the street to exit driveways or for genuine visitors of residents to get parking. The street also has a lot of young families and typically a cul de sac provides a safe place for kids to ride their bikes and play but with so many non-residents parking in the street its becoming more like a public car park presenting a safety concern for our kids.

If you agree with this proposal, please sign this petition to demonstrate your support to the Town of Cottesloe.

Thank you
