#12015-03-19 04:29It is time to beautify our shore not make it more ugly with container space. What happened to the plan to shift containers out to the Southern Depot? Shift all the imported vehicles straight to the Sourhern Depot as well. |

#22015-03-19 05:36When other major cities have redeveloped there water front for non industrial activity we once again want to expand to bring in cars and cargo which is short sited thinking. Look at the proposed tank farm space and expand this across the whole water front what an amazing transformation this would me. To achieve this the so called holiday highway will need to end at Whangarei not Wellsford. Install the rail link to Marsden Point (1st talked about 40+ years ago). Deepen the port to accommodate the ever larger container ships. Not only would this create a liveable city and much needed space for the city to grow it would provide many jobs in the north. While we are at it let's look at all the Navy land on the North Shore and free this up for redevelopment for affordable housing. |

#32015-03-19 06:47Because our harbour belongs to all of us to enjoy not for the council to add as real estate for the purpose of car parking! |

#42015-03-19 08:34Someone has to start making some sane decisions in Auckland. Auckland for the people not for commerce! |

#72015-03-20 06:11Because Auckland Council & Ports of Auckland are disregarding the wishes of the rate payers & residents of Auckland. Their actions so far are un-ethical, verging on corrupt. The leaders of our city seem to have forgotten what makes this a great city - the harbour. NOT THE PORT! |

#82015-03-20 21:15We do not need to lose more of our harbour.. The harbour is for the use and enjoyment of all. Auckland Council do not have a mandate to allow Ports of Auckland to remove part of that asset for their exclusive use. Containers, freight, cars etc should be moved from sites outside the central city to the wharves as and when needed, not stored on the waterfront. |

#92015-03-22 01:34I signed the petition as Auckland has a beautiful harbour that needs protecting for future generations. To reclaim it as proposed to merely house cars and containers is a disgrace. |

#102015-03-22 02:19Because it is our harbour. We the Auckland Ratepayers own Ports of Auckland. How dare they ignore what we are all saying? |

#112015-03-22 02:28The freight wharf is big enough. They just need to store the vehicles off site. A multi level carpark wouldnt cost as much as the wharf extention. |

#122015-03-22 22:51All decisions made behind closed doors is undemocratic. The harbour is part of the wider Hauraki Gulf Marine Park and should be treated as such. It's not a parking area for used cars! |
