#5 DEATH TOLL

2015-04-08 07:46

DEATH TOLL on the MOLOTO ROAD(also called the road of death) will drastically be reduced as many commuters will take a "short cut" from Moloto to the N1 highway, avoiding the road of DEATH.

a POSITIVE boost in TOURISM and INCOME for DINOKENG GAME RESERVE should a small toll fee be introduced at the gates to the reserve.

#7 CRIME, POACHING and CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES

EASY ACCESS via a concreted road to small holdings, businesses and game farms on this D734 and connection roads, WILL prove a DIFINITE DECLINE in CRIME, POACHING and other criminal activities as sercurity services can respond in a flash.

#8 ROAD MAINTENANCE

2015-04-08 08:15

As the current D734 road belongs partly to the TSHWANE Municipality and partly to the BRONKHORSTSPRUIT municipality, it proves costly to involve two municipalities in the regular SCRAPING of this gravel road. a Concreted road is costly to introduce, but will prove a SAVING to BOTH MUNICIPALITIES in maintenance on the long run.

This is a very shit road leading to major attractions. People don't want to travel on the road which result in a loss of income to tourism.

#10 CURRENT CONDITION of D734 gravel road

2015-04-08 08:22

The D734 gravel road has been SCRAPED TOO MANY TIMES and gravel been washed away so badly that it PROVES IMPOSIBLE to scrape it any more WITHOUT GRAVEL FILLING. Some areas have deteriorated and scraped away so badly, that the road actually forms a small stream/spruit/rivulet during a thunderstorm thus washing away more and more gravel. The current condition has deteriorated so badly that a complete GRAVEL FILLING WILL BE NEEDED SOON which will prove costly and due to the current volume of ever increasing traffic will prove an ever increasing and existing problem .... unless concreted.

A proper feasability study will show that this project will prove to be fianancially viable

We travel this road with my caravan and it shakes it to pieces and everything is full of dust. I travelled on it again this past weekend and had a stone hitting a chip in my windscreen. The people ride so fast to avoid the corrugated road that they will make accidents. Grating it does not help for long either.

#13 Concrete or tar

This is defiantly a well-used road and will probably carry more traffic if it’s in a better condition as it’s a short cut to the highway and could also be used as an alternative route to the toll road. Pretty sure it will help taking off some slower traffic from the high way. The campers that go to the lodges and other campsites along this road will also benefit as the caravan's they tow will also be saved. Poor animals along the road in the camps will no longer have to eat so much dust.  Thanks for your help and concern.

We have to drive on the gravel road every day and it is in very bad condition and international tourists will not return until the road is fixed.

My wife and I took a holiday at Sun Eden a couple of years ago; it took three hours to find the place once we got off the motorway and the hire car was nearly damaged by the diggers working on the dirt road. We want to go back to Sun Eden but the road is putting us off.

I love nature. That road makes it impossible to travel by car.

While we can talk about and publicise our country, the first hand experience of tourists is very important. So the fact that an important road to tourist orientated areas is in such bad condition, is ridiculous if not unforgivable.

This road needs to be resurfaced to the advantage of everybody in the area. More tourists equals more jobs.
