The Prairie Dogs are harmless and defenseless. I can't believe that the City of Midland is doing damage to their ecosystem for fireworks. Cruel and inhumane!

Prairie dogs are a keystone species to North America and should not be exterminated for a 4th of July celebration

I used to pickup my grandson from daycare in that area. Every time we went by the area, we would stop & watch the prarie dog's. It was special. It is now simply crazy to exterminate them for a temporary parking area for a city 4th of July party. The City Manager should be ashamed. Citizens unite. Midland is better than this. Do we really need to kill something to celebrate American Independence?
