Cresta Centre was paid off years ago. It is owned by a financial institution only interested in showing profit to share-holders. The rents in the mall are over-inflated. Why the hell should mall patrons pay for parking?

Agree 100%. We've lived here since the 80's. There is no reason for patrons to pay for parking. Please contact me on 083 233 5469. I'm happy to help with petitions etc.

Really won't be going to Cresta Mall to shop if I can possibly avoid it once the paid parking is implemented!!!

I feel it is unfair to take income away from people who are trying to support their families to benefit the shopping centre who already receives rental income. So many families will be affected.

Jobs are rare, the centre makes good money
Share the wealth guys!
If the guards go, I go...no more visits to Cresta...I can shop online!

I agree! Very disappointed in management. The car guards have to stay!

Outside parking should be free.
At least the guards, if shown respect and dignity will not be forced to turn to crime.

Ridiculous to charge us for open parking... Will support other shopping centres with free parking. There is no guarantee for safety of our vehicles even with paid parking. Pure greed. Let people choose to pay for covered parking. Open air parking payment is a real RIP-OFF

I love these guys! Even if I'm having a bad day, their friendliness makes it so much better! They have been doing an amazing job and if this is the way that Cresta wants to handle it, I feel that they should at least give them another job, which I know is easier said than done, so just let them keep the jobs that they have!

The guards are trying to earn a living and will be added to the ranks of the unemployed. They have developed personal relationships with some of us regulars. Why penalise both the guards and the customers. It is extremely distasteful.

1) Many bread winners will be losing their incomes which will, not only result in higher unemployment but also, potentially result in the associated increase in crime.
2) None of the Cresta customers were involved in the planned "Paid Parking" decision. In fact, to date there has been no signage displayed advertising the fact that customers will not have a choice but to pay the prescribed parking fee.
3) The decision to go paid parking seems to be purely profit driven, and has not taken the customer's (or car guard's) needs into account.

Why cause bread winners to loose their income for no apparent benefit, except to the centre's shareholders? I will still be parking in "Open Bays" and there is still no guarantee that our vehicles will be safer. In fact customers will be paying more for less benefit. Don't mind paying for undercover parking, but certainly not for open bays.  I will rather go and support another shopping mall.

PLEASE PLEASE dont leave these people with no source of income. You are NOT encouraging goodwill whatsoever. Quite the contrary. They are delightful essentials & i for one am totally opposed to anything of this nature!!!!

I don't think it's fair that hard working car guards who help us in the pouring rain or blistering sun loose their income because of a money grabbing, profiteering group of people. Neither the car guards' or customers's needs were consulted or considered. I will not support Cresta once the paid parking comes into being. I will rather go somewhere else. Paid parking was tried, but removed from World Wear and Key West because customers did not agree with the concept and kept away.

Putting the booms in will not stop car break ins or car theft. Only car guards can discourage this. Making the car guards redundant and creating unemployment to implement the booms just shows sheer greed and arrogance towards the public who actually support the Centre by the Centre Management. I will be boycotting Cresta once these are in place.

The car guards at Cresta at extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. Most of them are trying to improve their lives and their futures by studying in their spare time. I prefer to support them rather than putting more money into the management company coffers which are already charging exorbitant rents at the center.
