#40: Honesta -

Traditions do exist but then why does it seem to get louder every year? I personally love the pretty fireworks but what is the point of the ones that sound like gunshots? Btw, living in a free society means respecting the rights of Everyone - why should everyone be forced to listen to what amounts to little more than noise for the whole night? My 67 year old mother was woken from a very deep sleep with a huge fright because of my inconsiderate neighbors. My dogs were terrified. Oh well, w guess asking you to act with a bit of consideration is a complete waste of time considering your comment.

I live in a small village at New Year eve somebody was letting fireworks off not at midnight but about 2 hours before. My dog was so upset she is still not over it yet.

I think that fireworks cause way too much distress to the pets in urban areas. It's not fair and makes me very angry.

Our adopted dog is a firework run-away. Every year I spend New Year's Eve under the duvet cover with my drugged pets. What about the animals that do not receive the same love and care?

I signed because it is so difficult trying to calm my dogs when there's fireworks. I can also hear the other dogs in the neighborhood being so stressed. There are such unnecessary injuries and even deaths. Such selfish behaviour!!

I signed this petition because fireworks needs to be banned. Stop talking about it and do it. Our animals cannot stand up for themselves we have to! These animals are being hurt and traumatised. I just cannot understand why some idiots including government still allow this and do this.

To get fireworks banned for the animals that suffer at the hands of selfish individuals with no conscience or compassion.

Heartbreaking / Disgusting / Unforgiving / Inhumane - how can people do this to animals !!! And we call ourselves "humans" - God put us in charge of animals.

Because it gets worse every year so some people clearly have no compassion. Banning fireworks is the only way to stop it once and for all

Because we go to hell and back every year with our pets and fireworks are obviously stockpiled so they can use whenever they want.

Fireworks is a real disturbance and really annoying cause every time this fireworks are being lit we gotta ensure we cancel our plans for a holiday cause we gotta stay home at make sure our animals are safe and also people shooting flares ends up falling on our vehicles or on the roof of our homes..

As animal lover I can't wait for a law enforcement banning the import and sale of fireworks in SA. Hope law is in place very soon.

First and foremost it is a nightmare for all animals. it is a pointless waste of money. Secondly, we have starving homeless people in their thousands and instead of burning this money it should be donated to some shelter for homeless people or the SPCA. Thirdly, it is a godless noise that most people I know would love to live without.

We had the worst experience EVER in Edenvale on New Year's Eve! It was like a war zone and was absolutely shocking! Tried calling the police and our private security but I think they had their hands full all over Edenvale that night and their were so many animals traumatized by these disgusting, selfish and inconsiderate BASTARDS! that were sending bombs up every few minutes! I wish I could put a rocket up them to blow them apart!!!!

This is a no brainer, just think of all the animals that are traumatised whether they are domestic or wild. They don't ask for much just to be loved and cared for not abused. The humans that are hurt by these evil objects is self inflicted and don't deserve a mention it is the ANIMALS that are my BIG concern.

As my dogs are traumatized by the "bombs" that explode everytime there is a reason to set off fireworks. Despite us keeping them indoors with us having all doors & windows closed plus playing loud music. We have to be like this till early hours of the morning. Totally unacceptable & inhumane.

Fireworks is really a nuisance to animals and ,authoritys are looking the other way and not upholding the law when it comes to fireworks in public spaces. We need to band fireworks period.

The lunacy and selfishness of fireworks, not to even mention the terror it unleashes on pets, has gone on for long enough.
