I make every effort to recycle, compost, worm farm and am very conscious of rubbish and I feel it is wrong that we, the responsible people, should have to bear another "cost" added to our rates when we definitely don't want it.

Because it is important to me to keep things as they are.

not everyone has space for four bins. I do have bins but I like the fact that it is my choice whether to have them or not. I certainly don't want 4 bins on my property.

I would rather the council put more effort into showing/providing ways of reducing waste at home than paying them to cart rubbish away. When I was living in London, the local borough council provided free composting bins to every house that wanted one to help reduce waste at the landfill. There should be more of that sort of thing going on here!

I completely agree. I do all I can to reduce waste going to the tip including working with my tenants to provide them a free rubbish service where we all recycle and compost as a group. Having a council based collection program would reduce the incentive since you have to pay for it anyway!

I believe competition keeps prices down. It will be more expensive if the Council takes over with no competition. Very happy with current service. Would rather "tweak" that, if necessary.

I have spent some time looking into this, here's what I discovered.

I pay enough now for rubbish and I'm on a fixed income!

we already have a reliable and affordable system and the Company responds very promptly to any phone queries

The current system works 'just fine'; with Kleena Bins being very flexible, helpful and cooperative as to any changes being needed to pick-up dates. Additionally, they are flexible as to not charging if a pick-up is postponed, or dates need changing.

the council previously collected rubbish and opted out as they couldn't or wouldn't make a success out of the venture....leave the present system in place...the council drop off in malene street is a very successful site and well patronized...i can find no fault with kleana bins...i would be happy to further separate my rubbish...

I signed this petition, because there is no way I am spending that much money on rubbish in my household. Only 2 persons in my household. I sort my rubbish into what goes to the recycling center and what goes in the compost bin. Anything else is put into a black sack even that is only once or twice a month. If this comes into force I will be paying the same amount of money a bigger household would be paying. I will be getting my moneys worth if this happens.

I like the user pay rates....it's fair for everyone.

Because I want to keep my rubbish collection as always as my own choice - KLEANA BINS - and bin collected from behind my town house as I am unable to pull a heavy bin up a steep driveway to road side!

I think the current system is more user friendly. But, the system of recycling needs to be changed, and green waste which is now composted and resold, should be free at the tip, if ratepayers make the effort to take their waste there.

I am opposed to the Council's plans. As an elderly widow living alone, I do not need, nor have the room for, 4 bins. I would have difficuty in getting any bins to the steet. The Kleana Bins system I currently use of fortnightly collection, from my garage, suits me very well.

I want to continue with my at the door service.
I live down a drive and don't want to have to remember to struggle uphill up the drive with a full bin.
I love my full service option.

The service provided at this stage should be maintained, it certainly
suits my requirement.

Because I am satisfied with the service as it is & do not believe that a council run service would be an improvement in any way! they tend to be inefficient and costly at best!

Because the processes is wrong from the council I would like the choice of who I use and pay for rubbish services.

We don't use a kerbside collection,we recycle our rubbish. If we were to use kerbside collection we would rather pay as/when we needed it collected.

Because it prevents private companies from competing and dictates the sizes of bins. I like the full service option for Kleenbins
