The current owners + staff have invested their time, money + hearts into this restaurant - why should it be taken away from them without valid reason? If they are unsuccessful in their tender, will there be any reimbursement for the money they have invested into their business? I assume not, Manly Council!

It would be such a shame to see this business be lost with both the cafe and restaurant providing great food and service to locals and tourists. The Hearns have dedicated a large amount of time and money into the business aswell as the community over a significant amount of years. Keep the business in local hands to be enjoyed by many in the future!

Le Kiosk is an essential part of Manly... Amazing food, location and service... Manly Council would have rocks in their heads to not extend the Lease!

We were married at Le Kiosk 27 April, 2007 & we go back every year to mark this very special day.
It would be very sad not to be able to continue this ritual for my husband & I.
Please keep Le Kiosk. It is an Icon of Love & happy times for many.

This restaurant is an icon and should remain open for business. The cafe next door offers a good alternative price point for families. Quality is good and the staff are great.

Having been involved in the Sydney restaurant market for over 20 years, and spending a lot of time in Manly as a visitor and then a resident, Kylie & John have taken a business that was not operating well and had an awful reputation to be something that is intrinsically Manly.
Having also experienced the efforts of Fink Holdings, which are admirable but ultimately commercial (and yes I understand Quay is in their banner) and Serge who took Mosman Council to task on several issues, I really wonder why would Manly council not re-issue a lease to proven operators. I am assuming the council is not making concessions beyond what they have already made in their existing lease arrangements.
The final point I wish to make, is if Le Kiosk under new management ends up being another Manly Pavilion Restaurant, council will have truly failed its residents who are looking for a venue that is approachable by IT'S residents as well as visitors.
Thats my 2 cents.

Thank you to John & Kylie Hearne for the wonderful food, excellent service and relaxed yet stylish atmosphere you have created over the years. It is always a pleasure to dine at your fabulous Restuarant. Warm regards, Anne-Marie Ford

I love this little cafe, it's been there forever and needs to stay as it is. Renew the lease!!

The current owners invested a small fortune into Le Kiosk with a reasonable expectation for a long term opportunity, based on a history of 40 years and no indication of a possible change in the current arrangement by Manly Council. This decision lacks any consideration for the financial and emotional investment by the owners and sends a clear warning to potential investors where Manly Council is concerned.

Mr Wong's management of tendering processes is in need of serious review.

Through all the ups and downs of the local area it's devastating to see that the le Kiosk is about to be shut again!

The council has a lot to answer for. Prove that you have not been receiving those donations from developers with deep pockets! Go on.
