#52 Keep Le Kiosk local!

Sensational, iconic venue serviced by local family management who care. Why would anyone consider changing the status quo here, why risk the memories of coutless patrons who have enjoyed fine hospitality in such an idylic setting? While not born a local, in 25 odd years in the area I find it hard to name a better ongoing establishment. Like the wide Pacific it kisses & the summer sun that kisses it back - Le Kiosk should always be there as an integral component of our great local outdoors tradition. Change does & should occur, but ill thought change wrought by oportunistic minions is akin to cultural criminality. Keep Le Kiosk local - 'cause if this is change let me off here please.

Why would Council bother doing this? It's the most beautiful place for a wedding and my friends and myself enjoyed Le Kiosk so much. Do not do this Manly Council! You are messing with something people LOVE!

It just doesn't make sense to kill off a successful business. Le Kiosk is a world known icon and dear to many peoples heart. Please think again Manly Council before you make this BIG mistake.

Why kill a long standing successful business that is known and loved worldwide?
Please think again Manly Council before you make a BIG mistake.

Manly Council - Keep the tradition, keep the folklore, Maintain this institution.
Le Kiosk is part of Shelly Beach, part of Sydney. I have travelled many times from West Pymble to Le Kiosk. I visit Manly more than I ever would because of le Kiosk. KEEP OUR SHACK !

I wish you all the luck in the world in retaining this great icon; it is one of Manly's best kept secrets.

Manly Council - Come ON ... What are you trying to do ... YOu might as well move the sand off Manly Beach and replace it with pebbles ... Why do you think people come to Manly.

#60 Typical Council Fools

2014-03-06 08:30

Well obviously you fools just need to be voted out as quick as can be
Trying to shut down an institution.
What will you do next, oh of course, not allow poeple on to Manly Beach - yes that'd be just as smart !!

Absolutely love Le Kiosk! It is an amazing place to eat and hold functions. What a fantastic part of the area it is. To have them evicted would make many locals and tourists unhappy.

This restaurant is such an asset to the Manly local community as well as for Sydney. Great advertisement of Sydney's glorious seafood, gorgeous views, old sandstone buildings, and friendly, courteous staff. Please keep this Sydney icon as one of Manly's and Sydney's treasures

John Hearn is a local identity who played union for both Manly Marlins and Warringah Rats. He & his wife have done a fantastic job with Le Kiosk since they have had this iconic restaurant - it is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or to just meet with friends for a meal. You couldn't get a better spot & the food & staff are fabulous.
Don't let Le Kiosk be tendered out or taken over by Manly Council!!

We have been going to Le Kiosk for 30 years and would be very upset to see it close.

We recently took some American friends to Le Kiosk for dinner. They loved it and commented on both the quality of the restaurant as well as the wonderful venue. For the council to act as foreshadowed it shows a lack of appreciation of the history of the place and a disregard of Manly residents as well as visitors to Manly.

Please keep LeKiosk unique with the current local owners.  They are doing an incredible job as well as giving back to the local community by generously contributing to fund raising efforts to local public schools and hosting/funding functions for local non profit clubs whenever the opportunity arises. We definitely do not need another "franchise" style restaurant in Manly, who have said NO to fundraising efforts (except for Garfish, who were very supportive too) that I have been involved in with a local school.#1: -

This Restaurant is very important to my husband & I . We have shared a Wedding Proposal at your Restaurant & a 25 year Wedding Anniversary also . It's a beautiful Restaurant with amazing food & not to mention the vista. Please leave LeKiosk alone.

Please keep le kiosk open, it's a landmark of Shelly which bring us locals (or like me 6 years local) good memories. It's quiet at nights and hopefully they keep it responsible within the natural reserve. I love it on winter days and summer nights.

A shame for an iconic "must go to when visiting Australia" venue to close when it is clearly doing well and still popular.
