This is an excellent start in the West. But individual signatures are a mere fraction of what could be done. The obvious way to get, not only more signatures, but a mass - not individual - force in support - is to take it to the nearly 30 million workers in Britain - at their workplaces, many of them being mass workplaces. The sympathy among most western working-classes for the people of AFrica & the middle-East fighting [western armed murdering despots and gangsters) is MASSIVE. For example, a very depressed Gallup-US boss admitted: '82% of US TV viewers (over 200 million out of nearly 300 million) are either sympathetic or Very Sympathetic to the actions and demands of the Egyptian revolutionary protesters'.
Many thousands of us in Britain are taking political discussion into our workplaces [despite the whole left refusing to do anything except trust the TU Bureaucrats!] and we can take BOTH the Cuts issue - and the freedom of people in the Middle-East - issue into our workplaces and to our fellow-workers. It is not going to be difficult to get workers to sign this petition. And the connection between the 2 issues is obvious: worldwide, the rich, the Bankers, the MPs, the politicians are trying to make workers suffer for their crisis and their brutal system of exploitation and oppression - it's called capitalism. The heroic men and women of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Bahrain and now Syria and others too - have inspired an urge to stand up for our rights and freedoms and a quality of life denied us - by 'the 10% who own 85% of the world's wealth and assets' (UN W-Ider Uni-Report 2008) - yet never do a stroke of work! Yours most sincerely and in solidarity, G Jones
