Changing of Bell schedule

The past year at John F. Kennedy the ninth graders have a advisory at the end of the school day. These advisories happen once every month. In order for the freshmen to have this the school thought it would be best to shorten all the class periods and extend 9th period (our last period) to an hour long. Shortning of all the periods takes away from the students' class work. During the time for freshmen only, the majority of the building has to sit in a classroom doing unproductive work. As for the students in boces or Calhoun they will be missing a period of class. During lunch periods many students may feel rushed. Many students are unaware of the time changes to the schedule and will be late to class and be penalized for not knowing the new times. The concern for the education and safety of the students is the most important. The days of the advisory should benefit everyone and be better planned out. Everyone should have the same experience. When signing if you are a student at Kennedy please use your school email thanks a lot!
