Justice for Monique Thaboshe

Monique Thaboshe, a 22-year-old mother who grew up on Karooplaas in Klawer brutally killed on 7 April 2023 in Vredendal by the father of her two-year-old son. She was beaten multiple times in front of her son with a harvest machine beator and her boy must now grow up without a mom because the perpetrator thought he had the right to end her life. The perpetrator tempered with the crime scene and was subsequently arrested. He abandoned his bail application and has recently brought a new application for bail. The application will be heard in the Vredendal court tomorrow. The perpetrator has a previous conviction of murder, and this clearly shows that he is beyond rehabilitation. Granting him bail will put other women’s lives at risk as his violent tendencies never ended. We are astonished by the arrogance of the perpetrator who feels he has the right to be free whilst Monique will never see the daylight again. Like many others he has no respect for life.  We do not want to see him being released on bail and get to roam the streets whilst his victims were not afforded a change to life free of violence and fear. Their families are secondary victims as they must face the perpetrators who keep coming back to the same communities. We are tired, we say no more. We will protest at every court case making sure perpetrators do not get bail and that they get the sentences that fits the crime. Only then will women feel we are heard. If the perpetrator was not granted bail Monique might have still been alive.

Enough is Enough We want justice for Monique Thaboshe!

Please support the family and friends of Monique supported by Broken Angels, community members of Klawer and Vredendal Court on 3 August 2023 at 8h30am. We can only lose our chains! This is not our story! Fighting for our dignity, we shall not be moved!
