Keep our Children safe Return The Metal detectors

This petition is for the Hickman Mill C-1School district to return the metal detectors. Hickman has removed the detectors from the schools starting the 2014 school year. How is this protecting our children? The reason behind the change is that last school yr they never found anything on the students. Well that's the whole point in having them. I feel that now since the students know they won't be searched more kids will bring illegal items guns, drugs or knives because they know they can just walk straight in the building. Do we need a child to be hurt or maybe even killed before they bring the metal detectors back? Why not be proactive and stop it before it starts.
