Melanie Amaro in The Wiz

This is a petition to attempt to convince NBC to cast Melanie Amaro in the lead role of Dorothy in the live telecast of The Wiz. Melanie is an amazing singer who took home the first place prize on the first season of the American version of X Factor, and has already gotten her feet wet in the musical theatre world. Melanie would be more than capable and ready to take on this very important role. So much so, that even the legendary Diana Ross would be proud. So please NBC, consider casting the ultra talented Melanie Amaro in the role of Dorothy in the live telecast of The Wiz. You will not regret it!
