Nancefield Primary School, Eldorado Park

CONSTRUCTION MAFIA, DEPARTMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT LEAVES NANCEFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL INCOMPLETE

We, the SGB and parents of children attending Nancefield Primary School, need the school building to be completed!

• “The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development says it is in the process of appointing new contractors to finish rebuilding Nancefield Primary School in Eldorado Park” as per article in Aug 2022 in news24
• The previous contractor (first tender) asked for its contract to be terminated due to financial difficulties.
• The school was supposed to be completed in 2021 (Second tender) but pupils still attend classes in mobile structures.

“Department spokesperson Bongiwe 
Gambu said the remaining 55% of the project would be completed "as soon as possible". This after pressure from DA MPL Khume Ramulifho who conducted an oversight visit to the school“
To date 14 April 2023 there has been no communication with parents or community regarding the contractor that should be appointed to complete the project.

Parents have also been made aware that mobile classes are in the process of being repossessed as per court summons Department of Education has not paid for months.

All this came to light when parents decided to protest outside the school since reopening on 12 April 2023
