OPERATION THIBA NYAOPE FIGHTING AGAINST DRUGS ABUSE AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE

  “The drug and alcohol abuse has destroyed the youth in our community and in our very much needed schools. The Operation Thiba Nyaope came to light by the parents of the troubled youth who are engaged in the use of these drugs, to help their children and to fight against the use of drugs and also help those who are faced with similar situation. Organization Name: Operation Thiba Nyaope Type of the Org: Fighting against drugs and substance abuse Establishment: March, 3, 2009 Geographical Area: South Africa Main Office: Tembisa South Africa Registration number: 100-264-NPO ABOUT US   The drugs and substance abuse have destroyed our youth in our community and in our very much needed schools, and engulfed many families while theft in the homes still to continue due to the addictive of this substance called “Nyaope”. This prolonged abuse of this “Nyaope” and other substance in Tembisa and South Africa as whole, have nurtured a lost generation. A generation that has no motivation of the future and the quality of they're present lives, resulting to a negative expression kind of non effective Government that is failing to supply basic social services particularly education and employment opportunities. The most victims of this substance abuse is amongst youth, women and children therefore in response to this, the Operation Thiba Nyaope came to light by the parents of the troubled youth who are engaged in the use of these drugs to help their children and to fight against the use of drugs and also help those who are faced with similar situation. The community members of South Africa support the Operation Thiba Nyaope because this drug abuse affects them also and they wish to get rid of the drug dealers. Many people are complaining about this nyaope and drugs usage by our youths and they are willing to destroy it and build their community. Drugs & Alcohol in the community is more like a daily bread, hence the Operation Thiba Nyaope endlessly fight against these substances usage that is destroying our children. Operation Thiba Nyaope is aimed to tackle this humanitarian crisis including crime done by these youths in pursuit of these drugs. Operation Thiba Nyaope also promotes community basic social needs and endeavors’ to create employment opportunities and income generation projects for the Youth, Women, so as to reduce the level of poverty and contribute national development goals. Operation Thiba Nyaope also provides treatments and therapy counseling and home based rehabilitation, in supporting good governance within the local authorities and community initiatives and advocacy protection for all human being to create Positive environment and develop society, Politically, Economically through out the nation.   “Drugs & Alcohol in the community is more like a daily bread ...............”

  INTRODUCTION   BACKGROUND Operation Thiba Nyaope is a private non-political, non-profitable organization founded in 2009 to respond to the current need for South African people in order to restore, strengthen and promote human right culture, peace building, and good governance initiatives and tackle human Unitarian crisis among our youth in greater South Africa. Operation Thiba Nyaope is managed by independent non-partisan indigenous professionals whom they're own children have been and are some are still victims of this abuse of drugs and substance. On they're own capacity they have learnt practical & techniques on various fields of humanitarian sectors and community development projects human rights and child protection since the inception of the organisation hence initiatives are taken to tackle this humanitarian crisis among our youth in greater South Africa.   As indigenous professionals who are victims of drug abuse, they felt that there is an argent need to intervene and do they're very best to access or attack the drugs problem from the grass roots going rather than from top to bottom kind approach. The organisation act as a bridge between the suffering families, mothers, sisters brothers and fathers and their desperate kids who are using drug in the local community and presently the organisation relay on funds from they're own pocketsas well as the Ivory Park Taxi , well wishers and charities that are willing to help the community at large.     Organizational type:  Non governmental  Non partisan  Non religious  Non racial  Nonprofit making  Non political  Social and civil society organization PURPOSE   WORK PRINCIPLES  Respect for human rights  Optimistic  Patience  Justice  Equality  Democracy               VISION A youthful life of freedom and dignity to everyone regardless race, age, ethnicity and sex, free of violence, drugs and human rights abuses in the horn of South African, justice and peace are our vision.   MISSION Working together for socio- economic and youth development and restoring they're normal life, through protection interventions with participatory approach to all levels of community to defeat drugs, alcohol abuse, as well as ignorance and reach prosperous with stability and protective environment.   GOAL To relieve the inhabitants of South Africa the stress of the Use of nyaope and alcohol by the desperate youths who are in conditions of need, as a result of this drug and alcohol.   CORE VALUES  Accountably and Transparency  Human rights  Responsibility  Confidentiality  Respect for others    Commitment and trust ship  Networking  Performance and team working  Peace culture and pluralism  Serving the people in equal approach in line with our organizational slogans and constitution.  Mutual respect and partnership with the development humanitarian actors' include human rights and media groups.   OBJECTIVES  To base on South African cultural and traditional  To promote income generating activities and create vocational skills for the youngsters, women, to become self sufficient and reduce the level of poverty living.  To improve the rights of youths focusing on the issues such as drug abuse  To promote Understanding better relationship among the communities and attitude change for working together for peace and development in the society and creating good atmosphere of stability in whole the state including environmental protection.  To encourage the community for sustainable development and mobilize among them awareness on drugs, alcohol and HIV/Aids  To promote internal discussions among human rights activists, on the work of media and journalists toward contribute to national heal and development.  To document the on-going drug dealings in our country and submit to the concerned agencies in order to bring the criminals and perpetrators on justice whenever possible.  To closely monitor human atrocities and abuses of the children in the conict zone and avoid those problems of youth killings, community conicts, and Child abuse such as (physically, mentally and socially) through community mobilization, parents and counselling.   GOVERNANCE Operation Thiba Nyaope has defined structure including general community assembly, board of directors And executive Committee. The structure determines chain of command and hierarchy of responsibility Within Operation Thiba Nyaope. The general assembly is the highest decision making organ approving Policies and reviewing achievement and plans. The board of directors (B.O.D.) is the planning and policy Making body of the organization which controlling and approving the all activities by the Executive Committee. The President is the head of executive committee that is responsible for the implementation of the programs and daily management activities. OPERATION THIBA NYAOPE’S PAST IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS MANAGEMENT & STAFF Operation Thiba Nyaope has access for all skilled and experienced professionals who have capacity and competent to involve all the desired activities that promotes the Goal and Objectives of the organisation. The professional staffs of management periodically review their activities to appraise and provide them with human resource development training on the job and technical assistance to undertake systematically their duties and responsibilities. Operation Thiba Nyaope has also technical consultants of Engineering, Designing, and Planning etc.
