Petition Against Mandatory Use of Invigilators App For Online Exams at Walter Sisulu University

  • To: Head of Department/Exams Office, Walter Sisulu University

We, the undersigned postgraduate students of Walter Sisulu University, are writing to express our deep concern and frustration regarding the mandatory use of the Invigilator App for online exams. Despite attending training sessions, many of us continue to experience significant difficulties in using the app effectively.

The Invigilator App has proven to be unreliable, causing undue stress and anxiety among students. Technical issues, poor user interface, and lack of adequate support have compromised our ability to focus on our academic performance.

We urge the university to reconsider the use of this app and explore alternative, more reliable methods for online exams.

Demands:

1. Immediate suspension of the Invigilator App for online exams.
2. Exploration of alternative exam platforms that prioritize student experience and technical stability.
3. Provision of comprehensive technical support and resources for students.
4. Consideration of flexible exam arrangements for students who have experienced technical difficulties.

Reasons for signing:

- Experienced technical difficulties with the Invigilator App
- Feel anxious/stressed about using the app for exams
- Believe alternative exam platforms would improve academic experience
- Support fellow students affected by this issue
