Petition Against Proposed rezoning and subdivision (Fiskaal street, Glen Marais) Erven 3643 and 3644 as ERF 3645. 34

We are collecting signatures to stop the proposed rezoning and subdivision of Erven 3643 and 3644 to ERF 3645 at the intersection of Fiskaal and Monument St, Glen Marias.  

We believe that this project would have a detrimental impact on our neighbourhood. Specifically adding to the existing congestion on Fiskaal St as well as the intersections of Fiskaal and Monument St, Fiskaal and Oewer St, Fiskaal and Veld St.

Fiskaal St and Monument St are the only options for road access, the plans indicate Fiskaal St as the main entrance and exit for the development.  

Pictures and Videos are attached to demonstrate the current congestion on weekday mornings and afternoons as well as on Sundays before and after church services. Fiskaal St provides direct access to about ten housing complexes three schools and two large churches.  

In addition, the proposed development is simply too large for our area and increase in population density would put a strain on our already overburdened infrastructure, leading to more vagrants on the street, noise pollution and strain on our public services maintenance repairs, meter reading and garbage removal for example.  

Glen Marais residents already struggle with power and water interruptions. The electricity, water, and sewerage infrastructure is simply not adequate for the current strain not to mention if an additional fifty-three houses and related infrastructure is added to the street. The construction of this project would result in significant environmental damage, destroying natural habitats and putting wildlife at risk.  

We therefore strongly object to this development.
