Petition II: for the release of Alex Dancyg, kidnapped on October 7, 2023 by Hamas and held hostage in the Gaza Strip

Dear Minister,

We are asking for help in the release of Alex Dancyg, 75 years old, Polish-Israeli citizen, kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz in Israel and abducted by Hamas terrorists to the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

Alex is imprisoned in the Gaza Strip without proper medical care or medications to keep him alive, which he must take after suffering a heart attack. We know from the released hostages that he is starving and does not receive medicine. Every day he stays in such conditions poses a real threat to his life.

Since October 2023, every day we are waiting for the results of Polish diplomatic activities in the case of the abducted Alex Dancyg, a citizen of Poland and Israel. Many Hamas hostages from outside Israel have already been safely released.

Alex Dancyg was born in 1948 in Warsaw, Mokotów; historian, teacher and educator of guides for meetings of Israeli and Polish youth, an outstanding promoter of Polish-Jewish dialogue. For his attitude and activities, he was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, and the Medal of the National Education Commission in 2008 by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. On November 16, 2023, the Polish Council of Christians and Jews in Warsaw awarded Alex Dancyg the honorary title of Man of Reconciliation, as a token of appreciation for his activities.

His family, friends, thousands of students, teachers and colleagues in Poland are waiting for Alex Dancyg. He was their frequent guest and mentor. He has been meeting them in Polish cities and towns for over 30 years and is welcomed with an open heart everywhere. Alex's most current meetings with young people were scheduled in November 2023 in Warsaw.

On their behalf, on behalf of the family and on our own, we are asking for support in the release of Alex Dancyg from the hands of Hamas. Now. The activities carried out by the social movement to free Alex are reflected in the social campaign #StandWithAlex.
