Petition to oppose the Proposed Scrap yard in Camelot and Surrounding
areas

We, the citizens of Camelot and surrounding areas, petition to the City of Cape
Town and SAPS to NOT approve the proposed scrap yard (recycle center) in our
area.
At this stage our area, Camelot is flooded with opportunistic crimes daily. We feel
that the establishment of a scrap yard in this area would encourage more criminals
and criminal behavior to negatively affects our area.
Secondly this is a residential area and as such storage of recycling materials for any
duration could also pose a possible health risk to residents. Above and beyond the
associated burning of copper wires.
We demand that the proper cause must be followed, and that all residents be giving
an equal opportunity to oppose. In addition to this, we strongly object any future
plans for a scrap yard considering the high level of break inns at various houses
especially when people are not at their homes.
