Protest against defaming the Health workers

In the fight against the COVID-19 virus, the Ernakulam medical college is doing a very valuable service for treating the infected people. They started their preparation long back in the month of March itself, foreseeing the spread in the region. Their timely preparations helped the state to contain the disease in its first and second stages. Now they are in the third stage of the fight for supporting the infected people who came from outside the state. The way the doctor's nurses and other health workers of this hospital supported the innocent victims of this virus, is widely appreciated by the public. From newborns to veterans (Indian nationals and foreigners) experienced their care and support at the time of stay in the hospital. As a native of Cochin, I was very proud of these activities. Their commendable service created confidence among the people of this region in this fight against COVID. However, one media created fake news against this organization. Malayala Manorama Channel telecasted a piece of news that was shocking and completely manipulated. They alleged that the patients including kids were illtreated in the hospital and provided inadequate facilities. Due to public protest, after some time the channel telecasted an apology.  However, a simple apology won't dilute the gravity of the crime. The hospital authorities start legal procedures against this media. The public should also come forward to protect and support our health workers. During this attack of covid-19, we consider our health workers as our soldiers. Both the state government and the central government declared this and requested people to support and appreciate the service extended by the health workers. However, the action of Manorama channel is truly anti-national and must treat seriously. A proper enquiry must be conducted and culprits must be punished proportionately. We request the high court of Kerala to intervene in this issue and provide justice to the health workers.
