Raise Your Voice to Bring back SML TOURNAMENT to MADIGA

Revolutionary greetings 

"It is with heavy hearts that the Madiga residents learn that the tournament they host annually, known as the SMLECACY TOURNAMENT, will not be concluded at its birthplace. This decision comes after a group of individuals so called “10 people”, who claim to represent the Madiga community, submitted a letter from their lawyers stating that the community no longer wishes for the tournament to continue at Madiga Vultures Sports Field.

As Madiga residents, we wish to distance ourselves from these malicious actions that threaten the development of our community. This tournament does not only provides promising players with a stage to showcase their talents but also benefits vendors and local businesses.

This has led the tournament management to change the venue to Solomondale Primary School field, where it will conclude on October 1, 2023. The management made this decision to safeguard the tournament's integrity. We are thankful to the SML Management for initially choosing to establish this tournament in our community and for continuing to host it here. The tournament could have been hosted anywhere around Ga-Dikgale without interruptions, but you chose Madiga. We still want the tournament to continue in our community, as we should not have to suffer due to the decisions of a few individuals.

As a community, we urge all stakeholders involved to come together and find common ground on this matter. We also kindly request that the Dikgale Traditional Council be fair in addressing this issue. We would greatly appreciate it if this matter could be resolved for the betterment of our community."
