Recognition for Australian Civilians who served U.S. Army during WWII

We hereby request a review of Australian Government policy in relation to official recognition of Australian civilians who served during WWII as employees of the U.S. Army.

It is the opinion of the signatories that the Service of all Australian Veterans of U.S. Army Small Ships Section who served in active war zones should be recognised with an Australian medal.

Further, the Australian Government is obliged to recognise the Service of Australian civilians with an Allied branch authorised by the Australian Government during WWII by issuing a device and/or certificate acknowledging the value of that service to Australia.

This is an opportunity for the Australian Government to reconcile an historical administrative oversight. Australian WWII Veterans of U.S. Army did not experience closure or commemorative opportunity as per their peers who participated in similar activities with other branches of service.
