WE REQUEST WIL ALLOWANCES FROM UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG, FACULTY OF EDUCATION.

As education students at the University of Johannesburg, we would like to express our concern with regards to the lack of WIL allowances to the university. The practicals (WIL) experience is financially straining in several ways, particularly in terms of transport, and it would be very helpful to be supported financially in terms of transport allowance to go from home to the schools and back. Many of us are struggling financially, and are having to choose between buying food or spending money on WIL. Additionally, many of us have to travel to other provinces for our WIL placement, and we cannot afford to pay for travel and living expenses out of our own pockets, thus having a transport allowance for WIL would be very helpful.
