Subject: Request to Reschedule JEE Main 2023 Session-1 and remove 75 percent eligibility criteria

Respected sir,

We are writing this Representation on behalf of all JEE Aspirant to draw the concerned authorities attention towards the genuine concerns of JEE Aspirant.

Kindly consider the following points:

  1. Dates of JEE Main 2023 were announced just one month before the first session-1. In 2020, when the first session was held in Jan 2020, dates were finalized and announced by the NTA in Aug 2019 i.e. 4 months prior to the exam. Notice period of just 1 month is insufficient, unfair, unjust and not rational for the 2023 aspirants.
  2. The session-1 of JEE Mains 2023 exam is going to be conducted from 24 Jan 2023 to 31 Jan 2023. And, some state boards like Bihar Board (BSEB) have their 12th board exams starting from 1 Feb 2023. Students of Bihar Board are depressed who has JEE Main on 31st January and 12th board exam paper the next day
  3. This year, JOSSA and CSAB rounds lasted till end of October 2022. Now, if the JEE Main 2023 Session-1 is conducted in Jan 2023, it will be a clear injustice with the droppers as they only got 2.5 months for preparation.
  4. Considering JEE Main 2023 Session-1 in last week of Jan 2023, JEE advanced 2023 would most probably be conducted in May 2023. But, if NTA accepts aspirants’ demand and reschedules the Session-1 to April 2023, JEE Advanced 2023 could be conducted in June 2023. So, there’s a difference of just one month between the decision of NTA and students’ demand.
  5. JEE Exam is 02 Years (XI-2021-22 & XII-2022-23) based exam. Last Two years, XI gone fully affected by COVID in Online Classes and Underrated academic for Large no. of deserving students. The Class XII also partially affected.
  6. CBSE already enforced full syllabus/Session(Single Exam, Preboards, Practical etc.) in 2022-23 Session instead of COVID affected late start of this academic year. CBSE already announced external practical wef 01/01/2023 which will last for about 1 Month i.e. upto 31/01/2023
  7. CBSE has also Announced Theory Exams w.e.f 15/02/2023.
  8. During January/February month students will be busy in Patch up the affected start of Class XII for Boards as well as JEE point of view and Later on after Board Exam for filling Gaps of Class XI (2021-22) for JEE which was also heavily affected by COVID.
  9. Students need a fare first attempt not just formality i.e 1st Session in April.
  10. April First Attempt for JEE Main 2023 is also itself a big move towards normalcy w.r.t 2022 JEE Main was held in 4th Week of June (1st) and 4th week of July (2nd) as COVID affected 1 and half year for this Batch can not be ignored as detailed above.
  11. Last year students were eligible for NITS, IIT’s, IIIT's irrespective of their board percentage but this year they are not eligible with same percentage. Many students left NIT last year and took drop now their whole year and career is ruined.
  12. 75 percent eligibility criteria is unfair for those aspirants who took a drop year and were hoping to clear the exam in 2023. This eligibility criteria was not there last year, so students prepared accordingly.
  13. Pursuing engineering course’s and becoming a engineer is a dream of lakhs of students and the emotions of their parents and teachers are connected with this exam. But due the declaration of premature dates, they have started to give up on their dreams. Please allocate them an adequate amount of time so that they can prepare well for the exam.
  14. At the end, India is a democratic country. In a democracy, public demands must be considered and taken care of if they are legitimate legitimate and valid.

Prayers:

Keeping in view above it’s humble request to you:

a) That Conduct JEE mains 2023 first attempt around mid of April to enable students across the country to prepare well for the exams

b) That either remove/reduce 75 per cent eligibility criteria this puts a lot of mental pressure on these young minds

Yours Sincerely
