Save Arikomban

Arikomban is a teardrop in many hearts. Wish to bring his plight in front of those who can do something for him .

 A poor wild elephant who was wrongly accused of so many things including killing several people  , without solid proof . And was translocated to a forest region 100 kms away from his own place, after 6 or 7 rounds of tranquilizer shots and torture from 4 helper elephants ( kumkis) . He suffered a bad wound in his trunk at that time.  Also, it's said that he's partially blind. For the last one month since the translocation, he had been visibly miserable. Now he's again going to be tranquilised by Tamil Nadu forest department as he ran amok in Cumbum town while on his way back to his birthplace . Many of us are badly concerned about the festering wound on his trunk which was clearly visible in those videos in which the poor thing was seen running for his life, scared.  At the same time he proved the accusations on him as a killer elephant as entirely wrong,  because eventhough he had the chance to trample a few to death, he didn't cause anyone any harm . Even those who didn't get the time to move away from his path ! A rogue killer elephant wouldve definitely harmed a few.  And fact remains that there are many in his own birthplace who want him back, even amidst the claims of him being a monster. Majority of us Keralites love him and respect his right to live in his own forest where he was born. It's the duty of us humans to find a feasible solution for peaceful coexistence . Removing animals from their habitats definitely isn't one.
