Save our local firewood and landscape services provider from being shut down by Auckland Council!

Silverdale Landscape Services Limited has recently been issued an Abatement notice from Auckland Council ... so we only have a couple of months to save our business and our jobs!
Unfortunately, even though the complaints made to Auckland Council from a couple of neighbours only relate to the firewood processing part of our business, an Abatement notice requires the entire business to cease as a whole.
It's an unfortunate situation when the growth of Auckland City and urban developments threatens the livelihoods of long-established and community-connected local businesses!
Silverdale Landscape Services has been operating since 2001. Ruth Pine (the business owner) along with her husband and daughter live on the property and her family have very strong ties to this area...Aubrey Road (which is also semi-rural) is named after her Great Grandfather!
Silverdale Landscape Services support several local charities and employ local people. This family owned business focuses on the community we love!
Our areas of service extend over Whangaparaoa, Orewa, Hatfields Beach, Silverdale, Stillwater, Wainui, Dairy Flat, Millwater, Milldale as well as providing essential firewood deliveries to those in areas outside of our local suburbs.
We also use many local businesses for our supplies and for maintenance services on our various tools and equipment.
A lot of people don't realise we carry out grave digging services for Auckland Council run cemeteries as well as Kumeu Cemetery.
We also provide section mowing and garden maintenance services...all of which are carried out well away from our yard in Aubrey Road!
The firewood processing on site is not full time and we are always trying to reduce the noise output issues that may effect our neighbours. We have invested in hydraulic machinery to cut and split the wood therefore reducing the amount of chainsaw noise. We no longer use chainsaws before 9am or after 4pm on weekdays or at any time on the weekends.
Our firewood is also a sustainable product as we purchase Treescape timber waste for processing to firewood for sale to the local community.
