Save St Patricks Primary School

Please sign this petition to make East Ayrshire council see that we don't want to lose the final catholic primary school left in the Cumnock area.

In October 2013 the council closed St Johns Primary in Cumnock, a parsish school which had been in service over several locations for 127 years. Whilst uncomforatble with this closure i sat back and watched in happen with the firm belief that closing one school would ensure the survival of the last catholic school in the area. With boosted number and a stronger sense of community between the unified town i thought this would have been a long term solution.

Now in January 2014 the council proposes closure of St Patricks primary and a merger with 2 large non denominational schools. Don't catholic parents have the right to choose a catholic education for their children? Even if you take religion out of the equation, the small classes in St Patricks offer a fantastic pupil to teacher ratio. The moral and social education offered is also superior to any other school in the area.

So with this information in mind i ask anyone who supports the right to choose a Catholic education to sign this petition. I also ask anyone who supports the right to choose a good school regardless of religion to sign and help us keep this small but significant part of the community alive.
