I couldn't cross the intersection from the upper to lower Octagon before the lights went back to Red at the new 10 kph speed limit.

Gene Anderson (Mosgiel , 2020-05-18)

#606

Mayors determination to carry out his own agenda regardless of the wishes of his ratepayers that he is supposed to represent.

Kevin VandeWater (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#607

everything that has been dont within the city centre is just ignoring the the voices of the public and very few to my knowledge are actually happy about whats going on. the mayor is a fool and his council are no better for allowing his stupidity to spread.

Peter Koops (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#612

I agree with the authors above comments in their entirety.

Chris Dick (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#617

I dont agree with whats happening to our city

Margaret Eccles (dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#625

The Mayor and the majority of the Council have no regard for business and consultation

John Hyde (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#627

I'm signing as I strongly disagree with the proposed 10km limit in the city center and the way the Hawkins has gone about this without hearing what business owners actually want.

Clint Trewin (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#628

The mayor an council just aren't listening to the rate payers. They're spending money on silly ideas .The 10km is unachievable in a modern car. The car with foot off the accelerator wants to creep forward at the minimum of 20km . You spend all you time riding the brakes. It is neither good for the car, those behind you or your sanity.

Sandra Jones (Dunedn, 2020-05-18)

#629

Totally disagree that we need to be so radical with wanting to change dunedin

Patricia Brown (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#635

I’m over the decisions being made without asking the locals

Sarah Ward (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#640

Absolutely waste of tax payers money and will ruin the the city as a whole , business and town vibe wise , opening a can if worms right there

Darryn Graves (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#641

This crazy Mayor is going to destroy Dunedin and our rates will be MORE than most of us can afford by the time he's finished sadly! (Many more homeless people even if we have worked for 50 plus years!!)

Janice McNeil (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#646

As an older person I disagree strongly what our Major and councillors are doing, yet again to our City Councillors are doing to the main street of Dunedin. Not be

Wendy Farlam (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#650

We need to change the way DCC is elected to a first past post system not the multiple order of choices one we have. Need to stop this hidden green agenda closure of Octagon, George St etc speed limit 10k. Need to stop domination by Benson-Pope who runs council and dictates to his sidekick yes boi mayor. Need a council that understands in a city with majority in hillsides inner city parking not cycleways should be priority. Need to get Dunedin progressing again.

Des Jepson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#651

Because I agree they should be asking the public, not steam rolling over everyone

Nikita Blaauwbroek (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#655

I have no confidence in our mayor. Hes pushing through his own agenda with no consultation to the public and ratepayers of Dunedin.

Daron Stevenson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#656

The DCC seem to do whatever they like with our money. Creating projects that do not need to be created, and giving huge sums of money to contractors. Corruption??

Nick Poole (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#660

I'm signing this petition because I feel there has been no consultation with the public in regards to these changes of traffic speed and we as the affected community should have been able to have a say. I also recently drove along George Street and saw numerous blue and red coloured circles/dots and white icons depicting cyclists etc that were highly distracting to myself as a driver and I feel this whole strategy is completely unsafe for the Dunedin public. We also are entering a time when a recession or depression is inevitable and the Dunedin City Council and the mayor have shown no concern for spending money wisely. They need to be held accountable and removed from their positions.

Tessa Jeffery (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#662

Because the Dunedin City Council needs to listen to the rate payers and be more accountable for speeding ridiculous amounts of money on stupid things.

Michelle Ludlow (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#663

I dont want to see these things change

Ashleigh Ludlow (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#664

The election was rigged, and the STV is a total mess , run by people with an agenda . Get rid of Hawkins , Pope and Gerry .

Tony King (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#666

Sick of out of control councils.

Steve Doyle (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#667

We have a Mayor who cannot drive and has no idea of the impracticalities of a 10 km/h speed limit. His personal agenda is more important to him than the wishes of the local population - so why bother with genuine consultation? - he didn't! The rest of the councilors have even less of an excuse than ignorance, for ignoring the ratepayers of Dunedin. Just another in a long chain of ill-thought-out decisions that will cripple the city in the long term.

Graham Prime (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#668

They mayor is incompetent and so is the council

Kirby Mackay (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#670

Waste of money

Vanessa Millington ( Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#671

DUNEDIN NEEDS BETTER LEADERSHIP

Julie Larkins (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#677

Transport, parking and Barnes Dance crossing fiasco have made access in the city terrible. As a disabled person it is a nightmare. There is no public consultation and businesses are suffering as a result.

Peter Adams (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#681

I have no faith in the present council or Mayor.

Lynda Short (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#682

No confidence in our mayor & certain councillors in Dunedin.

Anne Dempsey (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#686

Things need to change. ASAP

Austin Finlayson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#687

The mayor and some council is making/pushing through major decisions without consultation of ratepayers or community to the detriment of everyone including businesses in an already suppressed economy - it is like they are doing everything they can to 'finish off' small businesses/retailers in Central Dunedin

Fiona Gray (Duneidn, 2020-05-18)

#691

I'm signing because I am tired of my rates money being wasted on stupid things. Time the council stepped down including the Mayor. Only 1 I voted for got in, just proves our voting system is set for idoits to win

Christine Johnstone (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#692

I have driven the street. Its distracting for drivers and confusing for all amongst the streets. I'm concerned over the frivalousbwazte of money and lack of mature ideas shown by current mayor and leadership

Tamsin Greer (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#693

Because he's a tool

Kara Lyall (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#699

I have no confidence in our mayor. Hes pushing through his own agenda with no consultation to the public and ratepayers of Dunedin

Dallys Crawford (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#700

I have no faith in the current mayor and his policies. No or little public consultation on the new 10km limit down main street. Its ridiculous

David Hare (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#704

totally agree... the public need to be consulted first, before outrageous decisions like this are made.

Bridget Paape (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#705

I have had enough!!

Steve Bennett (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#707

I hate the way this guy was elected given it was done under a system it seems many Dunedinites don’t understand and I’m very unhappy with the decisions made and the expense of the crazy ideas being implemented here. The decisions are anti business and anti motorist. Given our aging population and hilly surroundings none of this will enhance our cities people. He has to go !

Graeme Dobson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#713

The mayor and certain councillors have not acted in accordance with democratic process. The fact that signs were made prior to voting on spoed limit change and footpath widening on the pretence of a covid-19 response suggests that vote lobbying has occurred prior to the meeting to vote on the proposal. Secondly there is no scientific base nor ministry of health directive to support this response. Thirdly, the new road markings along George Street that appeared today are not only distracting to drivers, but strongly suggest that the mayor and his supporters are planning to pursue the full pedestrianisation of George St by stealth.

Bronwyn Thomson (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#716

The mayor so far has not done a single thing the general population of dunedin agree with and is costing use so much money for crap no one wants. Plus he isnt listening to the small business owners in the main dunedin cdb where he will ruin their livelyhood

Graham Griffin (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#720

Because this council has their own agenda already decided, take no notice of dunedin ratepayers at all. And are definitely not up to the job of running this city, just 1 example aurora fiasco,

Neil Munro (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#722

This council is not listening to its people

Bevan Wilson (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#724

I'm totally opposed to the pedestrianisation the Octagon and George Street.

Bev Smith (Mosgiel, 2020-05-18)

#729

Lack of openess and transparency, and using the Covid19 crisis as a means to push through their agenda.

Ezechel Garcia (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#730

There is no good reason for rushing this through. It is illegal and immoral without any mandate from the rate payers, business community or the general public.
I think this crazy selfcentered idiot should be sacked and possibly charged with corrupt practices

Steven Robertson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#735

This council is a joke

Jess Anderson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#737

I'm signing because DCC has been infiltrated and now works for the ICLEI & goals of UN Agenda21/2030 rather than for citizens of Dunedin. "Climate change" pavement widening was swapped out for COVID1984 widening. "Behind the Green Mask: UN Agenda 21".

Simon Tulloch (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#738

I don't think the changes being made to the cbd enhance our beautiful city.

Virginia Galbraith (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#740

This is utter crap!

Tenniell Anderton (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#746

I have zero respect / confidence in our current mayor
He is arrogant
He doesn't listen
He acts like a dictator / control freak and thats just the start of my concerns

Susan mcphedran (dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#750

The mayor is not utilising the money or taking the town serious he is using this to help benefit his needs to Art.

Tina Sem (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#753

Unnecessary spending

Janet Smithson (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#758

I think the Mayor and council are rushing to make changes to the speed limit on the Main Street without consulting the people of Dunedin. I am against changing the speed limit to 10km.

Jayne Downes (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#760

The city is getting ugly as and he’s getting and doing super Useless things

Dominique Mcshain (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#761

10km an hour is a joke

Andy Wilson (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#769

Fed up with what appears to be silly decisions and huge waste of rate $

Karen Greenan (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#771

They will be the death of this city . Wasting money . Making ridiculous decisions with our city wasting money. Iv never seen such a band of complete idiots

Lisa Genge (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#773

It’s abundantly clear the current council and Mayor of Dunedin is NOT listing to the rates payers of Dunedin and is clearly wasting money on a daily basis with pointless project, like the seating that they put along George Street to now remove it and put dots all over the road and illegal speed limit.

Johannes Strydom (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#774

Utterly disillusioned by the the current Mayor and his puppet master DBP.

Richard Marlow (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#778

George st...

Reuben Warden (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#781

Dunedin is my home town and hate to see this kind of tax payer paid for vandalism. Utter stupidity.

Steve Dolan (Omarama, 2020-05-18)

#783

It’s an absolutely silly idea. Everybody was just fine before under the previous 30km speed limit. And why on Earth have the traffic lights changed to an automatic driverA/pedestrianA/driverB/pedestrianB instead of a pedestrian-initiated 3-way driverA/driverB/pedestrian, Barnes Dance cycle??? Madness!

Joseph Chagger (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#784

I'm signing this because I can't believe the stupidity of the actions of the counselors thinking they know better than the people of Dunedin, and what they want and have asked for, you are in your position to work for the people not to run your own agendas start listening to the people.

Leigh Wendelgelst (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)

#786

I don't agree with what they are wasting the city's money on when there's so many other areas it can be used

Tanya Eastlake (Dunedin , 2020-05-18)

#787

Lack of consultation
Blatant use of a national crisis response to underhandedly pass local legislation that was preplanned
The Councils obvious disregard for the intelligence of their voters and the rights of the retailers in the city centre
The ridiculous timing when retailers are trying to get back on their feet after the lockdown, to claim that almost completely excluding cars from the city centre is ludicrous.

Linda Clifford (Dunedin, 2020-05-18)
