I feel it's a right diabetics type 1 should have the libra to make life a little easier for each one of them!

(Donegal , 2016-12-04)

#2089

Because my 16 yo daughter if type 1 diabetic since she was 9 months old. We have been self funding the libre for her after getting a scannER on trial from crumlin hospital. Before this she was not testing enough due.to not wanting to do tests in front of her peers and her hba1c was increasing at every clinic visit. Now with the libre after only 5 months her hba1c is back down to 7, it has been proven that t1's who keep their hba1c in range suffer less diabetic related complications and therefore less of a cost to our health service in the long run.

My girlfriend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few years ago. Seeing her deal with this on a daily basis has given me a huge appreciation for what she and types 1s all over the world have to go through to try maintain blood sugar levels. Having read about this new meter available I instantly wanted to know if this was available. constant finger pricking is one of the things she hates most about being diabetic and it would make her so so happy if she were to finally be rid of pricking her finger! I really hope this gets brought in as soon as possible so she can be happier!!
