I have family that went to this school...they should keep it open!!

Moira is an amazing school, with amazing potential . Its the only school in the east end and has lots to off.

(belleville, 2017-05-17)

#207

Its a great school theres no point in destroying so many opportunities by closing it. years of great times this school should stay standing

(belleville , 2017-05-17)

#208

I loved going to this school.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

Why take away educational systems and institutions when we can keep them intact and recreate a new vision within them

(Ottawa, 2017-05-17)

#217

I attend moira, and I do not want to go to any other school.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#221

This is the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard. Makes no sense

(bellevile, 2017-05-17)

#222

East end, reservation and county kids need a school

(Belleville Ontario, 2017-05-17)

#223

Overcrowded classrooms with less supports are only going to affect learning in negative ways! We need to keep Moira open so that our children can get the education that they need and not have an over simulating environment and traumatic change!

(Belleville , 2017-05-17)

#224

my daughter currently attends and a lot of children attend this school. Not everyone wants to attend French-Immersion or take a bus to school when not necessary.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#229

I'm a concerned parent. Under this new plan, my son would attend 3 schools in 3 years. This is unacceptable.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#234

I'm singning because I had the best year of my life in this school, thanks to the Destination program. Since I heard the new my heart was broken. I know that all teachers and students are great. This is the best school I have been to. Because of Moira, I would Love to go back to Canada, or going abroad somewhere else.

A strong community needs schools let me this. Closing the school is not a solution and will only cause more problems down the road.

(Bellville, 2017-05-17)

#251

I attend Moira and fell safe and comfortable with the people within the school.

My friend goes here. And she's happy here, I don't want to see something she cares so much about disappear

(Guelph, 2017-05-17)

#259

Outraged that the board would even consider closing the only High School in East end Belleville.

I was an exchange student from 2015-2016, moira changed my way of seeing life and live! Because of Moira, the teachers, the students, I was able to get in the best university of Brazil, i'm really thankful for everything moira did to me. It's such a shame to shut it down, a place like this, that accepts everyone, where mutual respect it's a real thing, where people actually help each other. I had never experienced something like that, canada and mainly moira, changed myself for the best that i can be.

So many people are losing their jobs, so many kids losing their school. Who's providing all the extra transport these families will need to get their kids to school because it will be too far from home. Not to mention any arrangements they have for child care. Maybe Susie has to be there to pick up Sara at 330. Now the school bus won't get her home until 4. This will affect so many aspects of people's lives. It's not just about the school

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#268

This is where I grew into the woman I am. This school allowed me the support needed to thrive, and exposed me to the many cultures that Belleville has to offer. The teachers care immensely about their students as well as their futures.

(Stittsville, 2017-05-17)

#271

I'm signing this because years of hard work towards a legacy in the art program have gone into this school. Our class football team didn't lose a game for 2 years. We achieved the greatest academic scores and i don't want all of that to go down the drain.

(Belleville , 2017-05-17)

#272

I'm signing this petition because my kids attend this school and it is the only high school in the east end of Belleville. I feel we need to keep this school open for kids in the neighbourhood.

(Belleville , 2017-05-17)

#273

Moira has some awesome teachers who obviously love the school and its students. Let them stay Moira teachers.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#274

My friend attends this school and loves it,hopefully it can remain open!!

(Campbellton, 2017-05-17)

#275

I am a graduate of Moira secondary. I loved my time there. It makes no sense to shut down the only public highschool on the east end, of which is surrrounded by several elementary schools.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#277

Schools should not be closed at all

(Mississauga , 2017-05-17)

#285

I'm a proud alum who values Moira's contributions to the city's east end communities. Moira's unique programming encourages growth and success for all students.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#286

I have 2 children that currently attend Moira and a future child as well within 2 years

(Belleville , 2017-05-17)

#288

I dont think all fhe se ondary schools should be on the west end. East end residents pay taxes too.

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#291

My highschool

(Belleville, 2017-05-17)

#293

I believe we need to keep a school on the east end open, Moira is a younger school than Quinte.

(Frankford, 2017-05-18)

#294

Schools make neighbourhoods. Don't ship our children across town.

(Belleville , 2017-05-18)

#295

Moira is an amazing high school atmosphere and I loved my time as a Trojan! Moira is such a special community to myself and many others.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#297

I want this school to stay otherwise my children are leaving this district and will go somewhere else to school! There is no need to close this school you have the money to run it and will have more enrollment coming up that you are going to need the space for. To me the board office is just being greedy and not looking at the bigger picture only that they want a new high school!

(Tyendinaga, 2017-05-18)

#304

Schools are part of community. If schools are removed there will be no community.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#305

My daughter attends this high school and is very distraught over what the future holds for Moira. She is in grade 9 and has just made the transition from elementary school, now this?? She was hoping to call Moira home!!

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#306

Why close it and have students travel for miles from the east end and the reserve. Plus this school means a lot to me as I worked there for almost 13 years. You are driving people away more than anything.

(Belleville , 2017-05-18)

#308

My daughter will be attending MSS for the grade eight destinations program this year and I would like her to have the opportunity to forge lasting friendships and scholarly relationships that will last the duration of her secondary school years.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#315

My child will be effected.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#317

Wouldn't be the same without it.

(Kingston, 2017-05-18)

#320

My father went there and my daughter excelled in theatre arts there. Its a nicer property than quinte secondary

(belleville, 2017-05-18)

#325

I want to save the school and IB program

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#333

I went to this school, saw former legacies, built my own, and it cannot be ruined.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#334

Moira was where I went to high school and it was an amazing experience. It drove me to keep going in my post secondary education and I made life-long friends very quickly. It was amazing to be a part of a school that supported and withheld our Mohawk culture within the curriculum and it made me extremely proud and grateful. I'll never forget the hospitality and gratitude from my teachers and guidance councillors at Moira, and it will be an experience I'll never forget.

(Deseronto, 2017-05-18)

#335

I am a student that sees potential in this school and Moira is a school for not only Natvie students but kids that live in the East end, like myself.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#344

As a proud graduate of Moira, I am interested in seeing the school remains open for future generations. Not only do I feel Moira provides a safe and comfortable environment for all students to grow in, but also provides quality education for their students. As a future educator, I understand the desire to create larger student bodies, but personally, I question if it’s worth it? With larger class sizes, I feel students will not be receiving the attention they need – and it will become easier for them to fall behind in the curriculum. The transition from elementary school to high school is hard enough already – Why should it have to be harder? Additionally, if Moira was forced into closure – students both from the east end of Belleville as well, the Reserve would be forced to face excessive travel to get to school; making morning routine much more hectic. Moira is the centre of a community of which it thrives, and to close it now, would erase a legacy that has stood prominently for over 50 years.

(Tyendinaga, 2017-05-18)

#346

I'm signing because without Moira, there would be one less school that Trenton High School is better than.

(Trenton, 2017-05-18)

#347

It was the greatest school experience I had in my entire life and I will never forget the memories I had in those halls ever...

(Toronto, 2017-05-18)

#349

Went here and it was a great school and experience.

(Belleville , 2017-05-18)

#352

This school was my home for 5 years! I met my lifetime friends and it was the first school that I was able to stay at without moving away. My teachers were outstanding and I had some great guidance here. I would love for my daughter to be able to attend moira when we venture back to belleville. This school, the diversity, the people, it has some really great spirit and it would be a horrible shame to see it gone.

(Abbotsford, 2017-05-18)

#353

I'm signing because i hate to see multiple education centres crumbling to ashes.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#355

I feel that this school is so important for some many kids. I've heard about it. Please leave the school to stay.

(Campbellton , 2017-05-18)

#357

I believe a secondary school in the East end is needed to accommodate not only the students in East end Belleville, but for students who come from the Far East feeder schools Tyendinaga and Quinte Mohawk

It seems to make more sense to have a school in the West and the East rather than the West and Central.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#359

I went to Moira. It was (almost) perfect. So many of my pals switched to Moira because it was known to be a great place (or at least the better option). Please please please dont ruin that for people. Not to mention the Mohawk students who would be faced with longer bus rides and likely a lack of culture at this "super-school".

(Kingston, 2017-05-18)

#372

I went to MSS as well as my daughter attends the Foundations Program.

(Stirling, 2017-05-18)

#377

I'm signing because I always remember Moira being a rival school of ours in athletics, but I also remember the heart and soul that each one of their athletes put into each and every game we played. To close Moira would be a travesty.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#381

My children would be attending Moira once they graduate from Public School. Noirs has one of the best programs for special needs in the area. Both my children are special needs. Closing Moira would be a travesty and cause negativity on the educational development on the next generation.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#382

I love Moira

(belleville, 2017-05-18)

#383

I attended Moira and it was by far the best education experience I've had!

(Ottawa, 2017-05-18)

#385

Moira is a part of my life, I know so many people that attended there

(Springbrook , 2017-05-18)

#393

I'm signing because I want to go to Moria for my highschool years not 2 possibly 3 different schools, if this should happen me and many others will be separted from my friends and be separted from so much culture and diversity which I will be missing out on since no other school has the diversity like Moria this is a few reasons why I'm signing.

(Belleville, 2017-05-18)

#394

Moira is a place I trust I lay my whole world into I wouldn't never let it go without a fight

(Belleville , 2017-05-18)

#396

I'm signing this petitions because I think my friend's that do go to Moira should have a great experience in high school as well as memories.I do not go to Moira but I do go to St.Paul's Catholic Secondary School in Trenton,Ontario. I think that once you start in a certain high school that you have planned to go to in the past , you should finish at the same place. I find it fortunate that some of theses student's parent went to Moira and won't have the same experience like they did. If your wondering why someone who does not go to Moria to sign this petition is because if my school were to close down , I would want my friends to be there if we had to go through this. I really hope you consideration and read this all. If you would like to get in contact with me - 613 243 8937 .

Sincerely,
Rhonet Julian

Moira is not just a school it's a home away from home
