This is a natural Donegal beauty spot belonging to the people of Ireland that shouldn't be closed off to the public!

(Moville, 2017-06-23)

#403

My Dad (Mike Carr) would have fought this. Fanad is a beautiful place, selfish, thoughtless people should not deprive everyone to see the beauty. Complete ******* move! SO EMBARRASSED that it is fellow American, they shame our country and shame their heritage.

(Toronto, 2017-06-23)

#406

The greater good for Donegal and Fanad tourism needs access to the Arch for the public but the landowner should also be given a reasonable annual payment to keep the area tidy and accessible.

(Omagh, 2017-06-23)

#407

It brings tourists to thensure locality and is a public attraction.

(Letterkenny, 2017-06-23)

It's a shame that they blocked this, Irish people have the right to go through, typical of the yanks

(Meath, 2017-06-23)

(Donegal, 2017-06-23)

A right of way to a natural treasure should be protected.

(Lausanne, 2017-06-23)

#430

It's ridiculous that anyone would have the right and would even exercise their right to block access to one of natures natural beauties. This is down to pure greed and hatred. This cannot be allowed.

(Fahan , 2017-06-23)

#441

Everyone should be able to explore a natural beauty such as the great arch

Ireland is the most beautiful place. It's beauty should be for all.

(St Peters Missouri , 2017-06-23)

#455

I love Donegal, go there frequently, and hate the idea that its beautiful landscape is being stolen.

(London, 2017-06-23)

#463

The wonders of nature should not be the preserve of a few.Access to the Great Arch should be the right of every generation. If those in power lack the teeth to reinstate the right of way, then what is their purpose? The Donegal people deseve better.

(Reading , 2017-06-23)

#467

Right of way is a right and we must protect our rights

(Rossnakill, 2017-06-24)

#468

The right of way to the great arch has always been accessible at no cost to locals and visitors to the Fanad area...nobody should have the right to stop that for others.

(Portsalon , 2017-06-24)

#478

This path has been here for years and as a tourist I will be sorry of it goes

(Leicester, 2017-06-24)

I want to see the arch anytime I want. That boyo has no right to block the right of way.

A digger would knock that shite down in 5 minutes!!!

Micky Hamish would have ripped that fence apart!!!

(Fanad, 2017-06-24)

#488

Its a lical landmark and the locals have a right to access

(Ramelton, 2017-06-24)

Why should this be closed it's a public place and a tourist attraction every one should get a chance to see the beauty of this place

(Donegal ireland , 2017-06-24)

#502

I walked to the Great Arch for many years with my Dad, a hugely proud Fanad man. He helped to successfully fight the attempt to block access to Drummacraig and I am confident this latest attempt to deny access to a place of local beauty and interest can be stopped again.

(Dublin, 2017-06-24)

#505

I visit the arch almost every year with the kids. Shocking decision to block access

(Glasgow , 2017-06-24)

I come on holiday to see my family every year to this area and I believe the great arch is a massive part of the place and stopping people from going to see it would be a massive shame for me and the rest of community.

As a Donegal native living in Dublin I am familiar with this beauty spot and it's important to keep this right of way open

(Donabate, 2017-06-25)

#527

No one has the right to block a public right of way...the answer is the title...public right of way!

(Brlfast, 2017-06-25)

#529

There should be freedom to roam, with roamers being respectful of the land they pass. This is a beautiful spot that everyone should be getting access to and it is important to the local tourism economy.

(Basel, 2017-06-26)

#530

The arch is for everyone not the few

(Derry city, 2017-06-26)

(Corby, 2017-06-26)

#539

our coast belongs to everybody

(raphoe, 2017-06-26)

#540

I have a family connection with Fanad as my mother was from there. The Great Arch is a spectacular part of our natural heritage and it is wrong to deny visitors the opportunity to see it. It will be to the detriment of Fanad's reputation and local economy if this is allowed to happen.

(Dublin, 2017-06-26)

#551

It's a disgrace that this right of way is being blocked

(Galway , 2017-06-29)

There should be unrestricted and easy access to the beautiful features of the Donegal Coast on the Wild Atlantic Way especially over long established public access ways.

(London , 2017-07-03)

#568

Nobody should be allowed to block access to the coast to the public

(Donegal, 2017-07-03)

#569

This is a ridiculous situation. Why can the landowners not let matters rest as they were. What possible harm can tourists do. Utter selfishness, and lack of respect for fellow human beings.

(Portadown, 2017-07-03)

#571

IT. S your right.

(Buncrana., 2017-07-03)

#572

It should remain open to the public.

(Athlone, 2017-07-03)

#573

I think it's wrong to prevent people from accessing the shoreline of any country. The oceans belong to all of us, and no landowner should be able to basically turn a beach and certainly not a landmark beach, into his own private property that he didn't even pay for. England has access, right of way, based on ancient rights for all people to move around the country. Ireland should be the same. You'll end up with people like Trump owning your shoreline.

(Calgary , 2017-07-03)

#575

Our culture, history and lands need protection from the greed of the few!!

(Drogheda, 2017-07-03)

I believe in public rights of way to natural wonders

(Newry, 2017-07-03)

#580

it's been a public right of way for years

(belfast, 2017-07-04)

#581

I believe everyone should have the right of way to the Great Arch in Fanad. Let's continue to show the world how beautiful Ireland and it's coastline really is.

(Belfast, 2017-07-04)

#585

Such beautiful sites should be available for the public to see.

(Newtownabbey, 2017-07-05)

#589

Great Pollet Arch forms part of the natural landscape and should remain accessible to the public.

(Dublin, 2017-07-05)

#590

Simply cos I would love to see it.

(Derry City , 2017-07-05)

#594

I'm signing to protect Right of Way all over Ireland (and to the arch in Fanad). I came to Ireland on 14 holiday's of each 17 days since 2002 and it's just the freedom to walk that is luring me back and back again to Erin's Shores...

(Bredene, 2017-07-07)

#599

Public access to Ireland's coast has been a tradition in this country for time immemorial. Let's keep it that way. Fanad, like every other peripheral part of Ireland, needs its natural tourism destinations to attract visitors (both locals and tourists) to keep it alive.

(Rathmullan, 2017-07-11)

#600

it,s such a beautiful place it should be open to all

(carlisle, 2017-07-11)
