BUDDY'S PETITION - New Glasgow NS Animal Control is Out of Control

Comments

#1004

This is unfair. Just because one person repeatedly complains due to their unfounded fear is not a reason to punish the dogs and owners. Your Animal Control officer is in serious need of training or possibly not suited to the job.

Katherine MacNeil (Marion Bridge, 2019-05-31)

#1005

I am signing because this is a farce..Shame on you...

Pam Smith (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#1008

This is not right, the dog was obviously away with his owner and is being falsely accused by someone who has a grudge! Free Buddy now!

Janice Morse (Somerset, 2019-05-31)

#1009

It seems this bylaw needs some reworking and that the bylaw officers need to do a thorough investigation and apply common sense when looking into these types of complaints. There should be proof/evidence before judgement is passed not because of some dog haters unsubstantiated complaint.

Robert McPherson (Fall River, NS, 2019-05-31)

#1010

I think the town of new Glasgow needs to muzzle the animal control officer and get rid of him and hire someone who knows what they are doing. Why do we people has taxpayers have to put up with idiots like this. We don't you are fired.

Glen Handcock (Enfield, 2019-05-31)

#1011

Dogs cannot be judged on looks or breed just like people cannot be judged by the color of their skin, clothes, hair, tattoos, etc. People cannot get restraining orders based on looks therefore the muzzle orders MUST be removed. No proof of aggressive behaviour. Just paranoid, uneducated individuals who happen to not like dogs. Remove the muzzle orders from these innocent pets!

Namcy Barkhouse (Mahone Bay, 2019-05-31)

#1014

There wasn’t a proper investigation as far as I have read

Andrea Marks (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#1015

Also dog lover
Have no problem with muzzle if dog PROVEN to be aggressive or hard to manage
Disagree with blanket coverage

Anita Tulk (Antigonish , 2019-05-31)

#1018

Animals deserve better.

Jacqueline McKerell (Edmonton , 2019-05-31)

#1019

This is bullshit rude and nasty and some people are just *******s.and just can't mind their own business.and and he's poor dogs gotta suffer.this makes me so angery

Angie Mackenzie (FoxBrook, 2019-05-31)

#1022

whether it is a dog, or a person, no one should be allowed to make serious accusations that result in serious consequences to a potentially innocent animal, when there is NO indication or NO proof. Especially when the proof goes against such statement. This is WRONG, should not be allowed, and the town of New Glasgow should take the morally correct road and instead of poor Buddy, the accuser should be punished here!

Rhonda Rees (Windsor, 2019-05-31)

#1024

This is animal cruelty and the law has to change!! This is FAR from right!
And I’m signing this for Buddy and all the other dogs

Stacey Mahoney (Chester , 2019-05-31)

#1025

This is not right. A dog should not be muzzled unless proven to be a risk. Innocent until proven guilty. They deserve to have rights also. Tis is outrageous.

Nettie Surette (Bear River, 2019-05-31)

#1026

I feel for the poor dogs.

Jo-Anne Bezanson (Port Williams, 2019-05-31)

#1027

I have been in this guys shoes with false allegations towards my dog years ago by neighbors and I had to move

Krista Denton (Halifax , 2019-05-31)

#1029

no dog should be treated that way. get a lawyer and go after the town council

john steeves (New glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#1030

Soulless, hateful people that will do this to an innocent animal don't belong on this planet need to be put in their place.

Geraldine McDougall (Durham, 2019-05-31)

#1032

It’s not fair that a person can just lie and then cause a loving dog to have to deal with a mussle that they don’t need. So sad and unfair !

Sara Weston (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#1037

It is unfair to the owner and dog. Shame on you

Quinn Amero (Bear River , 2019-05-31)

#1038

Animal control and the SPCA can't be trusted I have had dealings with one of them and found out that the reason they took our dogs a Christmas time no less is because they didn't have any to adopt.

Faye Veinotte (Aylesford, 2019-05-31)

#1039

This is ridiculous. These dogs are the kindest and one of the gentlest dogs you will ever meet...I had one and my granddaughter has one and his name is Buddy!

Barry Gentile (Stellarton , 2019-05-31)

#1040

Buddy has rights to be allowed to run and play without a muzzle on his face because of this lunatic!!

MacKenna Gibson (Nine Mile River , 2019-05-31)

#1041

I am signing because this is absurd and obviously the Animal Control officer is uneducated about dogs in general and the protocol for addressing these types of complaints. The person who complained simply sounds like a moron.

Dawn Morton (Berwick , 2019-05-31)

#1046

I think maybe someone should check out the Animal Control Officer find out why he is so down on dogs oh yes maybe someone should put a MUZZLE on the officer and see how he likes it's

justina king (truro, 2019-05-31)

#1049

Each case needs to be evaluated individually and I’m sorry but a neighbour complaint without proof should not be enough to issue a muzzle order, as stated by the owner, complaint the dog was in another province....

Cathy Ellsworth (Gibbons , 2019-05-31)

#1052

I'm signing because I feel there are steps and procedures that determine whether or not an animal is aggressive, and they are not being used. You should not be able to take one persons word on whether or not an animal is a threat.

Michelle Bain (Barrington, 2019-05-31)

#1056

I grew up in New Glasgow and still consider it home. The squeaky wheel should not always get the grease, especially not when there is proof to abuse of the system.

Jackie Rink (Thunder Bay, 2019-05-31)

#1057

As a veterinarian, I take pride in my ability to read dogs and understand their behaviour. In my clinic, we use muzzles only when deemed absolutely necessary to prevent putting any dogs in a position of nervousness or stress due to their inability to defend themselves. When dogs are forced to wear muzzles when they are outside of their home, they are faced with many uncontrollable situations which can result in manifestations of different (and more dangerous and life-long) behaviour issues.

Bronte Boucher (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#1061

It is down right wrong what the animal control personnel is doing

Pamela Sousa (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#1065

Whoever came up with this decision should have to be muzzled

Josh Serroul (Sydney Mines, 2019-05-31)

#1067

If this dog was not even in town, how is this even possible.... Come people we need to be respect and investigate before any of this happens

Krista Rhodes (Newport, 2019-05-31)

#1068

No dog should be made to wear one unless proven they can’t go without it!!
Sad :(

Britnie Dill (Windsor, 2019-05-31)

#1069

This neighbour sounds scarier than any dog.

Barba Ewart (St.Thomas, 2019-05-31)

#1070

This is Redicious.

Crystal Copeland (Edmonton , 2019-05-31)

#1076

This is completely unfair! I wish Buddy the best of luck.

Wendy Thorn (Sydney, 2019-05-31)

#1080

I had a similar experience a few years ago in thattown, as my dog was attacked by another dog and since my dog was a German Shepherd they said he was at fault.

Michael Jacquard (Yarmouth , 2019-05-31)

#1082

My boy is a barker and can be pretty playful.. I wouldn’t want him treated unfairly, and no one else should be either. Fight the power!

Janice Croft (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#1083

False accusations piss me off

Wendy Cotton (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#1085

Screw the stuffy neighbors who have a dog complex. She probably lives with 50 freaking dirty cats

Terri Lynn (Antigonish, 2019-05-31)

#1086

Totally unfair to the dog. And it's plane to see it's completely wrong.

Tanya Beaver (Coldbrook , 2019-05-31)

#1087

I'm signing because this is not right.

Ray Richardson (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#1088

I love dogs and if the owner says that he or she is sound then I will believe them. Not some lunatic that wants to make a scene just because they don’t trust dogs in general or hates them. I’ll trust a dog

Rose Bowles (Antigonish , 2019-05-31)

#1094

This is ridiculous! The dogs did NOTHING wrong!

Amy Delorey (Stellarton , 2019-05-31)

#1103

This is wrong ! Changes are needed

Erin Butler (West Quoddy , 2019-05-31)

#1106

The animal by-laws are asinine and needs to be reviewed in their entirety...to muzzle a non-aggressive dog after years of no incidents because of hearsay is cruel and an absolute infringement of rights. Shame on you New Glasgow - as I know this isn't your first incident of treating dog owners in your community unfairly.

Katie Mellor (Sackville, 2019-05-31)

#1109

I’m not from C.B., but I would be devastated if someone complained about my dog “potentially” being aggressive and the complainer not receiving a nuisance fine. This is so wrong.

Misty Canning (South Brookfield , 2019-05-31)

#1110

Maybe the neighbours should be the ones under a muzzle order.

Rick Condon (Ajax, 2019-05-31)

#1111

I don't feel the need to mussel a non aggresive dog.

Maureen Spagnolatti (Reserve Mines, 2019-05-31)

#1114

This is really Kroul for an older dog to have to wear a muzzle when they have not bitten anyone especially when the weather is hot they need to pin it in order to cool down. That said I think the person making complaints should show proof an if they can’t should be fined for the repeated fake calls.

Wanda Dell (Finksburg, 2019-05-31)

#1115

It's just ridiculous!

Sonya Henderson (Merigomish , 2019-05-31)

#1117

If you can’t actually prove that he has been aggressive than you have no right to muzzle him or any other dog. Bad animal control people!!!

Deanna Caldwell (Windsor, 2019-05-31)

#1120

Someone claiming an animal is dangerous should have to provide proof for action to occur. That is how that law generally works.

Erin Beals (Halifax , 2019-05-31)

#1124

There has never been any signs of aggression towards anyone or anything from Buddy in the past. I think that the owner should get a restraining order against his neighbour and keep a close eye on Buddy. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to him! Shame on the dog warden and the Town!

Marguerite White (Halifax , 2019-05-31)

#1125

This law is just bullshit.

Gregory Didycz (Toronto, 2019-05-31)

#1126

If the allegations are true, the dog wasnt even in the province during one of the complaints. It appears animal control caved to stop the alleged false complaints rather than investigate.

Heather Tonner (Dartmouth , 2019-05-31)

#1127

What has this world come to .I wish you and buddy best wishes and tons pawlon2

M Kurz (Cambridge, 2019-06-01)

#1129

I don't think the dogs have any rights in this world. This is not fair to the dog!

Karen Wasson (Stellarton, 2019-06-01)

#1130

I also have a pitbull who deals with the stigma. Especially when he wears his halti on a walk. My town also has crazy dog rules that don't make sense. Seize and euthanize first before figuring out the full store.

Ashlyn Hall (Quispamsis, 2019-06-01)

#1133

I’m signing this because I am a dog owner and I would not support this type of approach. Solving our differences should not involve punishing a pet. We need to be unbiased and e amine facts as opposed to doing something that’s easy!!

Tammy Rose (Enfield, 2019-06-01)

#1134

Dogs don't have a voice

Natalie Freeman (Pleasantville, 2019-06-01)

#1135

It's clear to me, that this neighbour is out for revenge.

Kimberly Macisaac (Middle musquodoboit , 2019-06-01)

#1136

I believe that this dog is being unjustly treated, by being made to wear a muzzle while it has never been proven that he is a danger to anyone! Especially when one of the complaints were made while he was not even in the province! Prehaps the control officer in question should be investigated! We can not have animals being treated this way with only hearsay and no actual proof, the person making accusations in this case clearly has an agenda!

Donna Benedict (Middle Musquodoboit , 2019-06-01)

#1138

This is unreasonable and to some degree cruel to the animal if all of the details stated in this post on FB are true regarding these dogs not being all out aggressive animals. Leashes I get to a point- but muzzles?! Nope!

Michelle Sullivan (Shubenacadie Nova Scotia, 2019-06-01)

#1141

My dog would not be wearing that they be luggin me off for punching the dog control officer in the mouth first i gaurentee ya that !

Carson Dennis (Clarks Harbour, 2019-06-01)

#1142

I am signing because I believe Animal Control should have investigated before turning the dog's life upside down. Poor thing must be stressed...
Remove the muzzle !

Shellie Petrossie (Dartmouth, 2019-06-01)

#1144

It’s awful how Buddy is being treated by wearing a muzzle. He’s of no danger, poses no threats, has no history of dangerous behaviour!

Diane Acker (Halifax, 2019-06-01)

#1147

It;s insane that this is happening to Buddy, specially when he wasen't even in town? shame on the town to make him to put a muzzle.

Louise Faizandier (Canning, NS, 2019-06-01)

#1155

Because it’s not fair

Aimee Maloney-kelly (Trenton , 2019-06-01)

#1156

This is not right, the dog is not a menace (the neighbour is).

Krista Boyd (Cole Harbour, 2019-06-01)

#1159

I believe this is unfair to this animal .No animal should be treated this way. Remove the muzzle from him as for the one who said this you should put the muzzle on him.

Cathy MacKay (Nova Scotia, 2019-06-01)

#1160

This is absolutely ridiculous. Without any proof of aggression I call this bullying. I have a small dog who, while being the absolute apple of my eye, has a high stranger danger radar and snarls. 1 - she snarls, and no matter how hard she is pushed she has NEVER actually bitten or even made a move to. 2 - shes a small dog so no one cares. No dog should have to suffer because someone can't see the beauty of their soul.

Cassidee Kempton (Bridgewater, 2019-06-01)

#1162

there needs to be an action taken by the dog in order for him/her to be muzzled. How would you feel with a mask on all day to keep your mouth shut...not fair to the dog is all I have to say.

Tracy Quinn-DesRoches (Lakeville, Westmourland County, 2019-06-01)

#1165

I believe the dog is innocent and no way does a dog deserve this because of one person complaining.

Michelle Campbell (Airdrie, 2019-06-01)

#1170

This is just wrong.

Todd Kelly (Pembroke , 2019-06-01)

#1172

This is bullshit period!

Holly Weatherill (Debert, 2019-06-01)

#1175

I am signing this petition because as an animal lover, owner and parent, i think that when an animal is accused of being bad, have a hearing. Prove it! Dont punish on someones word Alone!

Lori Beck (Bridgewater , 2019-06-01)

#1186

Elizabeth Camano

Elizabeth Camano (Halifax, 2019-06-01)

#1187

This is awful. This not only hurts the dog and the family, it makes the town look like idiots. As as they should. If there is no proof of what the dog has supposedly done, and the man making the complaints has been caught in a lie there should be no action taken.

Gracie Wilson (Truro Nova Scotia , 2019-06-01)

#1188

Be real it’s a good dog just bad neighbor

Ann FentonGoodwin (Clark’s Harbour , 2019-06-01)

#1191

I'm signing this petition because it is wrong for anyone to be persecuted based on accusations without evidence. We need to stop placating to whiners.

John Whidden (Middle musquodoboit, 2019-06-01)

#1192

This is utterly ridiculous...maybe the ones who is doing the complaining should have a muzzle over there mouth for the rest of their days ...the town may be a better best then ...until these dogs show any signs of aggression..leave them alone ....

Gail Tanner (Blockhouse, 2019-06-01)

#1193

Let the good boys be good boys!!

Cate MacKenzie (Dartmouth, 2019-06-01)

#1195

This is unjust and needs to be dealt with. That animal control officer needs to develop a backbone.
