For reasons mentioned.

any planning decision would set a bad precedent and against the public interest

The woods and the surrounding areas are green belt there is lots of wild life on the area, we do not need to lose any more natural beauty in the area and I would like to protect these areas for the future of my children, we do not need to increase the traffic and make this area a busy and noisier area to upset and ruin the area where I and many other families live, this is a small piece of land that should be kept for its intended use (horse stables) let’s not ruin a natural beautiful area

Neil Davis (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-02)

Potential increase in traffic in a residential area not appropriate in residential area

I live in a beautiful peaceful street with abundantl wildlife and in close proximity to the protected sherrardswood, the sale of this land for this proposed plan will ruin the environment, I applied for planning permission for a single storey extension at the back of my house which looks onto crossways and was refused as the council informed us that it would not be in keeping with the environment of WGC and Knightsfield area, I am angry at the possibility of this being agreed, if that doesn’t effect the environment of WGC then nothing will

Rebecca Cantor (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-02)

I am signing because I fully endorse the objections raised. This application if granted would have a hugely detrimental impact on the neighbourhood.

Steve Russell (Welwyn Garden City , 2019-07-02)

This change of land would destroy beautiful woodland and wildlife habitat and greatly affect the way of living for all those who live in the area here. It would be totally against the Welwyn Garden City estate management scheme and the ethos of (this part of) WGC itself. There are plenty of existing industrial plots where this could be accommodated.

Angela Ford (Welwyn garden City, 2019-07-02)

#22

The proposal to allow light industry in such close proximity to Sherrard’s Wood is unacceptable due to impact on this area of designated green belt and also the local community

Sarah Furston (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

#24

Application is to vague , more information is needed for a development with a potentially negative impact on surrounding environment .

Jane Malins (Welwyn Garden City , 2019-07-03)

As listed

This land should definately remain Greenbelt as it is next to Sherrardspark wood...

As per all the reasons in the petition

Michael Cade (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

This is a quiet residential area which is unsuitable for industrial use and all the negatives that go with it, additional heavy traffic and the damage to the natural environment incuding physical and noise pollution

Dennis Durkin (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

#32

because I love in WGC and dont want any more green belt destroyed
when there is so many industrial sites that haven't been regenerated

jayne rowe (welwyn garden city , 2019-07-03)

#37

Too dangerous for housing (traffic noise and pollution), it is green belt land, loss of visual amenity for walkers, threat to wildlife along the edge of the woods

Margaret Corbishley (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

#38

This is green belt land and should be protected.

Anne Clarke (Hatfield, 2019-07-03)

#41

I totally agree with everything being stated

Brenda Bartholomew (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

#42

I object to use of a site close to sherrards woods being converted to light industrial use.

Gary Fitzpatrick (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-03)

The site being talked about is a site of natural beauty but most importantly a site of SPECIAL SCIENTIFIC INTEREST and is most definitely not a brownfield site. Also allowing someone to apply for RETROSPECTIVE change of use and get the go ahead will open the doors for others to do the same. This is not what Welwyn Garden City or Letchworth City were designed and built for, Both towns are of interest not only in the UK but abroad as well. The bat colony was disturbed once before when many trees were cut down in Malms wood and it was many years before bats from the roost were seen flying through at dusk. We are supposed to be protecting this town for our children and grandchildren not decimating it.

I'm opposed to industrial development in protected green belt and the road leading to the stables is not suitable for the resulting traffic. I'm also surprised that the stables have been converted to industrial use already without proper planning consent it would appear.

Paul Clark (Welwyn Garden City, 2019-07-04)

Not enough infastructure for more housing.

Ann Davis (Welwyn garden city, 2019-07-04)

#62

Erosion of a residential area. Industrial creep to an area not suited to expansion without major infrastructure improvement which would destroy the character of the area, and outside the ethos of the garden city which has dedicated areas for industry.

I am the registered owner of my family home in Crossway.
I have not been contacted about this application.
I oppose on grounds of health & safety, environment, and highways.
It is clearly an attempt to acquire "Brownfield" status making it easy to apply for housing in the future. Purely for profit.
Neither use is remotely acceptable. Infact, current use should be questioned.

Elizabeth Tipping (Sandy, 2019-07-06)

Im signing because i dint want the land of all my neighbors to be ruined

Oliver Mattick (Welwyn garden city, 2019-07-07)

As I support and adopt the objectives previously raised. The change of use application will have a detrimental effect on the surrounding area and will particularly dangerous when the hundreds of children who attend Monks Walk will be travelling to school. This is an area of natural beauty and any change of use will have a negative impact on the environment.

I spent a large part of my childhood playing in this area and I strongly believe the land should remain as greenbelt. My parents still live in the area and my daughter regularly enjoys going for walks with them.

The land is currently green belt and there is no adequate justification provided for a change to industrial use.
