Signage like this causes.urbam decay and open the door for more visual pollution.
Any and all illegal activities must be acted in to stop a lawless society.

Anton van Niekerk (Midrand, 2019-10-26)

The City is being "captured" by business who do as they please!
There is too much advertising on the side of the road - and these are in the road servitude which is even worse! We should be concentrating on what and who is in front of us and not distracted by the multiple trailers and static signs we already have. Now we have flashing, bright signage being added to the mix! We have a HUGE number of people on the road who do not follow the rules - we do not need to be accosted by advertising ever few meters!
Some may say that this is a small issue, but is is a sign of the slow degradation and lack of respect being shown to the structures and laws of the country. Why should people follow any laws if the Government and Law Enforcement is seemingly selective in the ones it chooses to uphold and enforce?
Respect and tolerance needs to be brought back to this amazing country - respect for each other, respect for the rules and regulations that have been set up and respect for the environment. These signs must NOT be allowed to stay up and the company/s who have put them up must be fined heavily and be made to take every one of them down. For by doing less means that we can pick and choose which laws we want to follow or respect and then this country will sadly fall apart.

Billboard companies are taking advantage of corrupt and or ignorant municipal officials and not abiding by the by laws for the erection of billboards. Errecting them with no regard to the environment or residence wishes .

BERNARD Goldring (Johannesburg, 2019-10-29)

#41

Our trees are being chopped down to have billboards erected. This is irresponsible. There are systems in place for a reason so businesses are obliged to apply for signage.

Maureen Emery (Midrand, 2019-11-15)

#42

1. It is illigal.
2. Has no benefit to our community and is an eyesore.
3. False advertising (showing images of natural scenery with a waterfall, which is not what the Waterfall developments have to offer).
4. Indigenous trees were felled for these illigal advertisements - of which, should be immediately replaced threefold

Damian Snashall (Midrand , 2019-11-16)

Everywhere I drive in what once was a beautiful area of Johannesburg is now cluttered with road signs, posters on poles and trailers advertising various things. There appears to be no end to it and that everyone can just do as they please. Please clamp down and remove these signs so we can feel some peace in our suburbs again

Michelle Hope-Jones (Johannesburg, 2019-11-18)

#45

The illegal billboards are being erected all over the place; its unsightly and looks untidy. I'm not sure if road safety is even considered when they are put up.

Ryan Alley (Midrand, 2019-11-18)

#55

Unsightly billboards need to be removed

Peter Gunn (Midrand , 2020-02-05)

#57

The erection of billboards is environmental pollution. Not only pollution but they are a distraction to drivers on the road. Worst of all is when indigenous trees are chopped down to erect billboards. I personally boycott the advertiser on the board.

Pam Murison (Midrand, 2020-02-05)

#58

Im signing because this is a drisgrace to our town and country. It really does not look nice when driving along the roads and the scenery gets less and lees as trees get cut down for bill boards to be put up that block the views of our beautifull country.

Please please please stop allowing bill boards advertising trailers and signs to be errected on every open piece of land next to our roads.

Neil Willson (Johannesburg, 2020-02-05)

Illegal outdoor advertising is defacing Africa's greatest City on a massive scale, scarring our roads and parks with clutter. Prime space is being stolen by big companies, with no benefit to the City's coffers, or to ratepayers.

By enforcing bylaws, JMPD and other City authorities can help clean up Johannesburg making it a more attractive place to live, work and invest.

Visible action against rogue media companies and advertisers will send a positive message, boosting economic growh and job creation.

Linda Evans (Kyalami, 2020-02-05)

These unauthorized signboards are defacing our communities. They are often completely oversized for the space they occupy.

Brendon Bouwer (Midrand, 2020-02-09)

#123

The signs are invasive and unsightly in a suburban area.
It lowers the value of our properties and is unrelenting in hand written signs.
Ours is a country suburb, and is starting to be more and more run down.
More effort should be put into uplifting our Tree depleted, dug up, defaced suburbs and environs,
Plant trees, repack the beauty you have destroyed, our natural sound barriers, our attempts at cleaning up our areas when no one is responsible for preventative measures and huge fines...... which we could use as funds to upkeep our areas.

Morag Hagerty (Midrand, 2020-02-10)

#129

I have to sign it because officials are not doing their work. If it is illegal it should be dealt with as a criminal activity. Why do you need a PETITION? Just do what you have to do

Johan H Haupt (Midrand, 2020-02-11)

#130

Tired of all illegal billboards!!

Alecia Nel-Monteiro (Midrand , 2020-02-11)

I'm signing because our area looks a disgrace. Boards and Strings all over the place and stuck on our poles and electricity boxes which we as rate payers paid for. Then the papers fall off and litter the area.
