These poppy breaks are used by people who deserve a break and some families can't go anywhere else due to children's disabilities. Taking this facility away would be detrimental to the veterans community and families.Rodney Hargan (Ballymoney, 2019-11-21)

As head chef at Bennet House I am privileged to serve those who have served our country. The closure of the only respite facility on the whole island would clearly contravene the human rights of an already marginalised group in society. The Royal British Legion purport that this cost saving exercise would serve to secure the charity’s’ future. I argue that cleaning up after the government is in no way financially viable either in the short or long term.Garvan Myles (Portrush , 2019-11-21)

No prior warning or consultation. Providing an invaluable service to veterans.Farming out to other providers destroys the whole ethos of comradeship. Also happened when the legion became "corporate "

I’m signing because I have only started working at Somerset Legion House 6 months ago and already have seen how much these break centres mean to all the veterans and their families. I have met some great people and work with a great team who are very upset about this decision to close. It was a great honour standing with the veterans on Remembrance Sunday and was hoping to be apart of this for a long time.Aimee Barros (Weston-super-mare, 2019-11-21)

Every one gives willingly to RBL to help our service men, what help can they expect when you are closing care homes. RBL helps social inclusion.margaret Peacock (Durham, 2019-11-21)
#384
The Legions motto is Service not self. Why are they deciding to withdraw this Service which is well needed across all regions. in this day and age, more veterans will be needing support. As a BCS (welfare) rep for a branch, guidance has been given to 7 different families as to how to get into Bennet House. The feedback I have been given as to how much they enjoyed the facility. Indeed they believe in some cases this has prevented the need for additional support. In the email from the DG, it mentioned that this type of support was available elsewhere but no guidance as to how as a rep we could assist with getting access to this. It is time for the board of trustees to speak up and sort it out.Ian Freeburn (Waringstown , 2019-11-21)
#387

This service is invaluable to the veterans of Northern Ireland. To lose this we would increase military suicide rates on return to civvy street and the social isolation of the elderly persons that avail of the service the break centres provide would be devastating for the entire community.Sara Heaney Dallat (Coleraine , 2019-11-21)
#395
These homes are really needed. People who have been say how wonderful they are. They give the elderly and people who have been I'll a much needed break and with them being in different areas they are easy for people to get to, without them having to travel too far. The case working needs alot more people to do it and we know in some areas caseworkers are in very short supply. These areas are going to struggle and ve unable to meet demand.Linda Brumpton (Manchester, 2019-11-21)
