A little girl lost her life!!! This matter has been raised to the relevant parties in COT on several occasions to no avail but as community, we are now standing together and DEMAND URGENT ACTION!!!!! How many more people need to die before we will be heard?

Claudie Kannenberg (Pretoria , 2019-11-22)

Alida Ackerman (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#25

Im signing.this petition because a friend of my daughter died at that intersection and it has always been a bad crossing.

Noleen van Wyk (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#28

I am signing this because I have been a resident of Elarduspark for close on 30 years. The disregard for road safety by amongst others Taxis Creating a second turn lane overtaking cars on the left hand side specifically at this intersection has on more than one occasion endangered the lives of motorists in the turning lane as well as oncoming traffic not to mention pedestrians crossing the road!

Martin Vermaak (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#29

Enough lives were taken by speed, this crossing of the death is horrible, you never know if you will be safe to get over this crossing. Speed is the main problem and we need to calm down this speeding maniaks to save our pedestrians lives.

Retha Van Niekerk (Wingatepark, 2019-11-22)

#34

The safety of all road users at that specific crossing can not be guaranteed and it is heart breaking that a little girl had to lose her life. It could have been prevented.

Lizelle Van Vuuren (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#36

I am a regular user of this intersection and have had a couple if near misses

Adrian Jansen van Noordwyk (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#37

For the safety of our children! People use Delmas road as a race track

Karen Van zyl (Pretoria , 2019-11-22)

#39

No more innocent lives lost!!!

Chrissie Erasmus (Roodepoort , 2019-11-22)

#41

I'm signing because this because unnecessary deaths are being caused on our roads every day due to recklessness. Deaths that can be avoided if the necessary safety tools are put in place.

Erica Barton (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#42

An innocent life is taken.
People don't stop at that intersection. I live 500m from that intersection and on a weekly basis there are accidents there. The Trucks hardly ever stop at that intersection. We need to make our roads safe for our community.
The primary school lost one of their family members. They lost a friend. And a Mother lost her daughter. We saw them walking a lot. That mother raised a wonderful sparkling child.
RIP Sharlon. You will be missed by your family and friends. But your good kind and sparkling heart will ALWAYS be remembered. :(

Claudine van Staden (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#46

This is not the first child to pass away due to an pedestrian accident or a hit and run on the intersection. Cars are driving at an alarming speed on Delmas road.

Rita Van den Berg (Elarduspark Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#47

I have seen people regularly speed over this intersection. This intersection is adjacent to our residential area and close to my child's primary school

Christa Rocher (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#55

I am appealing better control management of the R50 through the suburbs Elarduspark and Wingatepark. Road discipline is poor and speed too high. Regular accident occurence is unacceptable at crossings with Barnard and Piering streets

Led Weyer (Tshwane, 2019-11-22)

#57

It is in the interest of the Wingate Park community to upgrade the safety of learners, workers and residents.

Herma De Wit (Pretoris, 2019-11-22)

#65

Safety for everyone. I knew the little girl that lost her life... Would like to avoid another tragedy

We need to keep trafic and speed under controle to limit tragadies as getting killed by not having safety in place, this will keep on until we have another victom

Julienne Vorster (Pretoria, 2019-11-22)

#74

This intersection is extremely dangerous and many people cross the traffic lights on red! Traffic also move at excessively high speed along Delmas road.

Safety of my fellow citizens

Anina Mostert (Pretoria , 2019-11-22)

#120

I walk that road from time to time.

Liezl Pentz (Elarduspark, 2019-11-23)

#121

I live in the area and agree that this intersection is busy and dangerous.

Karin Horne (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#122

A little girl had to die, because of negligence. I drove past three different accidents in one week, including the horrific accident on Tuesday, all at the same robot. Something needs to be done.

Carli Van Niekerk (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#124

I use that crossing everyday and the cars and trucks just skip the red robot coming from Delmas side. Pedistrians must run for their life to cross!!!

Ria Broodryk (Wingatepark Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#125

The intersection as named is unsafe with regular accidents occuring. Please address the safety issue.

Nicolene Sundstrom (Wingate park, 2019-11-23)

#127

My Daughter is In Elarduspark Primary Gr 5 and Uses The Intersection As well Daily

#130

This is the last life claimed by this busy intersection! Our children need to be safe around their schools!

Charanez Kirk (Pretori, 2019-11-23)

#131

There have just been to many accidents at this intersection. The speed driven on Delmas road is just too high.

Gunther Heyman (Elarduspark , 2019-11-23)

#134

I am signing this petition as child safety is everyone's business.

Louie Erasmus (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#140

I want safety for our children on the streets

Ruzandri Stoltz (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#143

The traffic light at intersection Delmas Rd & Barnard Str is a high risk area and requires urgent attention with filter arrows and pedestrian facilitation.

Andre Vermeulen (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#148

Ek woon in Elarduspark en sien daagliks hoe motors oor daardie kruising jaag wanneer hulle moet stop. Daardie kruising is lewensgevaarlik.

Marita De Mare (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#149

Terrible intersection to cross and people are as speeding. So dangerous.

Elmari Geldenhuys (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#151

The intersection needs to be upgraded and made safer. The traffic volume has increased; the intersection and the roads leading in to it is no longer safe.

Louise Hamlyn (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#152

Do not contact me i do not have additional funds, i am signing because that accident could of been my lived one

Rudolph Janse van Vuuren (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#155

We need to improve the safety of our roads around the school.

Cindy Pienaar (Elarduspark, 2019-11-23)

#159

I believe that this would significantly reduce the amount of accidents on that crossing. One life lost is one too many! The statistics about accidents and loss of life at this crossing speaks for itself. If a simple solution can prevent further trauma, it should be implemented without delay.

DELANIE BEZUIDENHOUT (Elarduspark, 2019-11-23)

#160

That robot is always a problem cars speeding over the red light and especially the stop street in Barnard street at the school cars ALWAYS just drive over stop and at five different events nearly hit my kids and mother in her mobility scooter at one stage a super nice taxi driver stopped the traffic so that my mother could pass safely. Its the general public that has no regard for children or elderly people at that stop street!!!

Lezandie Olivier (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#162

I have personally witnessed many fatal incidents at this intersection

Louwrens Cronje (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#163

I've been a teacher at Laerskool Elarduspark for 35 years and in that period of time we lost 3 of our children, but also I saw LOTS of accidents that claimed lives. I know that the robot, when it turns orange it's a question of 2 seconds then the robot turns green for the other lane. Because of the 2 wide roads there is not enough time for pedestrians to cross the 2 roads, even for a car to cross.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING AT THAT CROSSING!!!

Hanneline de Bruin (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#167

I am signing because I use that intersection on a daily basis and are seriously concerned about pedestrians that need to cross. No respevt to any road rules applied by mostly heavy vehicles

Frans Sauer (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#168

We need to keep our community but especially our kiddies safe, petitioning for a safe, happy and friendly community supporting each other

Beverley Klopper (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#169

It is absolutely terrible that a child's death have to come to our realization that we as a community don't stand up enough for our children's and human beings safety. We need to be saver at our pedestrian paths. This is a call to government to make sure it happened.

Adelina Coleman (Constantiapark,Pth East, 2019-11-23)

#170

Because the littlest residents of our city matter!! They deserve to travel safely to & from school! Slow down- for the safety of everyone!
I feel this is a worthy cause. Worthy of attention and worthy of change! The safety of each and every one of our kids and community matters.

Ronel Bouch (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#172

I am signing because of the traffic many vechiles always speeding over that robot and also because of that 9 year old that lost her life because someone couldnt drive accordingly and also that child was on of the kids of the school that my kids go to.

Carina Sprinkhuizen (Bapsfontein, 2019-11-23)

#176

I'm signing this because we care about the safety of our children, family and friends. Lost a dear little girl this week because of a lack of proper road crossing for pedestrians.

Zanne-Marie Mundt (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#177

There are children crossing that intersection daily, and hundreds of near misses with trucks and speeding cars monthly. It’s been a disaster waiting to happen for years, and this week it was confirmed when a beautiful little girl lost her life due to no fault of her own. We need to step up and protect our children!

Lonell Coetzee (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#178

Because cars speed at this intersection... it is not safe for pedestrians.
A young girl at my school where I teach was killed here last week. Please build a bridge for pedestrians.

Jeaneli Briel (Tshwane, 2019-11-23)

#182

I'm signing because an innocent child's life was lost due to the city's negligence in not looking after the safety of its citizens.

Blair Scheepers (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#183

I’m signing this petition because I agree that steps need to be taken to reduce the number of accidents at the Delmas/Barnard intersection, as well as at the Delmas / Solomon Mahlangu intersection.

I understand that the green ‘turning arrows’ are set to work only during heavy traffic flow, but I have witnessed how dangerous this can be as people tend to expect the arrow to flash, which is not always the case.

I know of another two accidents that occurred at these intersections because of that reason.

Thank you.

Chantelle Gradidge (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#184

I'm signing this because there have been too many accidents. I myself was also involved in serious accident in February and was unable to see oncoming vehicle when I had to turn to cross due to other vehicles having to turn obstructing my view. Last week another girl lost her life due to accident. Something must be done to prevent further tragedies.

Ellana Delport (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#185

I’m doing this because the intersection is a danger to all of the Windgate residents turning from Delmas road into Barnard St towards Klipbank road. I’ve seen multiple large trucks and private cars that just ignore the robots

Anri Joubert (Pretoria , 2019-11-23)

#187

I regularly use this intersection and have had numerous close calls. I'm always nervous driving here, especially when making a right turn.

Chris van der Schyf (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#190

A young girl of 9 was hit by a car in this intersection and did not survive! Could have been avoided!

Kelly-Anne van Coller (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#192

Intersection are not safe

Tanye Viljoen (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#193

Unsafe

Beatrice Botha (Windgate park, 2019-11-23)

#197

I fully agree with the reasoning behind this petition. I have never felt safe crossing this intersection, let alone with my child. So instead I travel with my car the 2km from his school home instead of walking. I hope this issue can be addressed in the interest of our children firstly!

Frieda-Anéén Neethling (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)

#200

In the 30 years I have lived in this area, this intersection has been the site of many pedestrian accidents which could have been prevented.

Rene Carstens (Pretoria, 2019-11-23)
